Seat bracket bolts are 10mm, could not find the torque settings for them in the Haynes manual (searched every section), I would say 10-15 Nm would be okay, use blue locktight to prevent them vibrating lose if you want.

i know im asking randomly but does anybody know of a method to get back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot my login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me

Thank for the video
Thanks mate, great video 🇦🇺🏍👍🏻
😎👍
Tanks, doing it right now.
Np, glad it helps 👍
Fantastic thank you. I have the exact same bike with the same colors. Best explanation and video yet
Cheers mate 👍 it was a great bike, had a few years 9f good fun on it.
@@HalfdeadRider yes it is, I’m on my second year and it has good enough power makes it great fun. I’m doing all the maintenance myself and will continue to do so. The big one I’m dreading is the valve check and shimming!
Nice video gonna give this a try soon on my er6n!
Glad it's still helping people 👍
Yeah ur video was helpful as I can say now the job has been completed. Thanks!

Thank you
No problem 😎👍
Huuuge thanks from a novice! Luckily mine is also a 2009 model and the replacement worked like a charm. However there was one extra electrical cable to disconnect underneath the tank for some reason.
The 2009 had some changes to it 2006-2008 is this model, and again in 2010 there were more changes, and bigger changes came later. Still mostly the same engine throughout though albeit with some tweaks, the earlier models like ours were set up the best.
Glad it helped you, enjoy and be safe, I really enjoyed owning mine for the few years I had it.
Fuel pump, the other is the fuel level sender.
Some models also have 2 nipples, and connect to two hoses running down the left side of the bike.
I gotta say, I just did my spark plugs and this video was pretty spot on! I appreciate it. I have to ask though just to make sure, I know there's a hose that comes off the air box but is the extra hose on the left side of the bike the one for extra fuel? I recently bought the bike and I don't think this guy even had it connected.
The hose on the left is the overflow if I remember right, it feeds down behind the frame to a bracket near the front sprocket cover. Thanks for watching, enjoy the bike they are great fun, I sold mine only two months ago after owning it almost three years.
@@HalfdeadRider you're the man! Thank you!
The “blocked” pipe is the breather tube. Catches any loose oil that works it was into the box to avoid contamination of the air filter. If it has any oil in it should be cleaned and dried fully.
I never did look in to it tbh, thanks for that. I'll give it a look when I prep the bike for sale soon 👍
I had no idea, mine was unplug with dried oil on it. I just squeeze the oil out or what ?
Bit of a fussy job but great to see if being done 👍
Yea mate, more than it was on cars, just used to take HT leads or coils off, plugs out and new ones in 😁
👍🏾💯
😎👍
I noticed the bottom of my 2007 ninja has 2 hose valve’s that can be inserted but only has 2 pipes. I know which one is the gas vaulve but I don’t know where to connect the other hose to? Help please
Just got myself a ER6F finding your videos useful mate. You based in Norwich??
Good to hear mate, great bikes, had lots of fun on mine. Yea I'm Norwich 👍
@@HalfdeadRider cool thought i recognise the scenery..I'm over Thorpe St Andrew a lot...the GF lives there.
Should've watched this at my bedtime, I used to btw. Then there were shitty camera and audio, soothing voice as lullaby.🤷😇 Lol..🤦♀️ Anyways, probably will help some bikers who want to do it themselves, so it's a good thing, such videos. Not saying that camera and audio are now not bad at all.🙋🤗 Ride safe!💙
Audio is much less of an issue when not out on the bike. Thanks 😁
should you use any anti seize grease for the new spark plug you install?
Some people do but it's not essential of course, personal choice, but a good one. I've never had much problem taking plugs out though, done many on cars over the years, worked in garages when I was younger and never used any.
Where does the second small tube belong on the air box? I don't remember where I pulled it from
Not sure what one you are referring to bud? give me a timestamp if you can to when I removed/replaced that tube.
It's been a while since doing this, and seeing the video so not sure how well I filmed it either. Thanks 👍
If you don't trust yourself with the wires - just do one at a time then you can mess them up 😊
😎👍
The airbox has three protrusions (? I tried finding a better name but couldn't).
One big one towards the back connects to the engine (above the gearbox)
A small one towards the back is connected to a piece of hose that has a plug at the end (??)
A small one towards the front
Hi mate, thanks for watching and commenting. It has been over two years since doing this so I don't really remember in too much detail, sorry. If you don't have a Haynes manual search google for a workshop manual, that should help you figure out any issues you might be having.
@@HalfdeadRider The workshop manual had a whole appendix about wire & hose routing. I couldn't find that bit at the bottom of the airbox
hi guys, my question is that do I have to buy an O ring or some type of gasket for the spark plugs, or I can install them as I take them out of the box. thank U !:)
As long as you bought them for this model they should go on straight out of the box mate, if they have a cap on top screw it off 👍
Iridium spark plugs good? Any difference from Normal ones?
Kind of are the norm these days mate, main difference I think is that they will last up to 100k miles. Might have a cleaner/stronger spark idk, they will just need the odd clean and gap check from time to time.
Hey! If the tank is full of gas, will it leak a lot when I take then tank off?
No, it will leak just the same, just a small amount will come out of the tube, but obviously the tank will be heavier, just be organised so you can lift it and put it on something safely, protecting the fuel pump by propping it up on some wood.
What size socket for the plugs? 3/4 or 5/8?
Probably a 16mm, this was years ago. Google for the imperial equivalent.
Heya. Great video! Thank you ever so much. So, I THINK it all 'worked'. I did the air filter and spark plugs, and it started fine, however, the "FI" light is on now. Did I miss something, or will it go away after I ride around a few times?
Thanks, glad you like the video. As for the FI light, that could be indicating a fault for anything, should not be anything you have done. You need to get the fault codes checked, potentially fix the fault indicated, and/or have the codes deleted.
@@HalfdeadRider Noted good sir! Thanks again. : )
@@_Krhys 😎👍
How many plugs are there in this bike?
Two mate, one for each cylinder.
Live me a DIY video... do you enjoy working on your bike?
Thanks for watching bud. I do like doing work on the bike, I trained as a mechanic on cars so I've always enjoyed it. Pity I have to do it outside in the heat and run up and down stairs to get any tools I forgot, wish I had a garage lol.
One question is okay to do this while there still is gas in the motorcycle?
Absolutely fine, but the tank will be heavy if its full.
@@HalfdeadRider thank you
@@ivanguzman4427 np 👍
@@HalfdeadRider Can you make a vid on how to change the fairings plz
@@ivanguzman4427 in some of my maintenance vids I show the process to get those off too. I'm also selling mine as I've had it almost three years now, time to move on.
It's great when things go to plan but when it goes wrong it's annoying
Yep, I've been there many times, but these jobs were much easier, and went much smoother than expected. The thought of this was a bit daunting as it was the first time taking the tank off, but really nothing to worry about. Thanks for watching 👍
@@HalfdeadRider no worries mate good video will definitely help people out as the theory is the same on all bikes! Yeah I do all my stuff what's the worst that could happen ?
If YT recommends them, getting shockingly little views lately, never mind, they might pick up. 😂 Never say things like that, you've seen the Dr Pepper adds.
@@HalfdeadRider it will pick up mate don't worry I always have a dry spell then do something and they shoot up ! Dressing like gollum in castle seemed to help haha
@@BickMitchum I'm not doing that lol
