How did a professional dancer manage to not score a single point in break dancing? Clearly she didnt understand her assignment or even what a cohesive break dance routine looks like. Maybe the acrobatic skill requirements just werent there. This isnt hate. Just keeping it real. Its up to Australia whether there was corruption involved, but to say Australians cant question how someone got where they are (especially when the rest of the World is laughing) when they dont score a single point at the event is just plain wrong. She and her family shouldnt be trolled on the street, but if the harassment is simply asking the question then its not harassment at all. Snowflakes dont do well in 'street' events. Maybe she just needs coaches and trainers that dont tell her she looks good when she doesnt.

Here's the thing. Let's give her the benefit of the doubt and assume there was no corruption or rigging involved, that Raygun was serious about what she was doing. Her aim was never to mock breaking, and that she genuinely worked hard to get to the Olympics. Based on her "performance" was there nobody else? Was that the best Australia had to offer? Everybody from the judges to the average casual observer could see how lame her act was. And if she did what she did in order to make some kind of "statement", should she really be surprised at the public outcry and backlash?

If we looked back at the previous competitions where she was in, Holly Molly was the usual in finals against her and much better competitor. Yet HM was given the loss each time. Seriously said, Australia does not really have much of talent and much of skills in breaking for the B-girls. As for Raygun's coach, .... who in the world allowed him to perform dances? The very impression of him already questions a lot on his 'expertise' to teach another on breakin'. Reminds me of Spike Jonze's dance for Fatboy Slim's "Praise You".
Why make another fine form of energetic dance into mockery? Is it because you call it stupid just because you can't dance as good? Then you make that stupidity trend that it kills the original form. It is a SICK joke and that needs stopped!

The controversy arose afterward when the Australian Olympic spokeswoman decided to give everyone a lecture about patriarchy in the Australian Olympic teams history, and basically called anybody who criticized Gunn a Hater. Gunn and now Perkins have weighed in, and the Australian public have not taken kindly to being told that they did not see what they saw, and to say otherwise makes you an online troll or a hater. It all could have been managed so much better. Yet Gunn has even said herself she knew she could not win, but hoped her interpretive experiment would garner her some points leading to questions as to why she was even there in the first place. Personally, breakdance has no place in Olympic competition, and only the best who was in with a chance should have competed. It is pretty obvious even to people like myself who know nothing about Breakdance, that Gunn was not in the same league as other competitors.

That isn't how the scoring works. It isn't like figuring skating where a perfect routine is a 10.0 and a pretty good routine gets you an 8.5. The judges each get a vote for who wins. You either get the vote or you get zero, from that judge. Let's take Raygun out of it. If two breakers both had really good performances but one was clearly better and the judges all voted that way, the loser would have "zero points/votes", even if the loser's routine was a solid B+ vs the winner's A+. As bad as she was, her score was not the same as a figure skater going out on the ice and immediately falling and never getting up and winding up with zero points.

I’ve heard this called “Princess Syndrome” and it’s a good title for it from what I see. We see it with many Swifties as well… people that can only see themselves as a “hero” or a “victim”. She truly believes that she is “good” because she decided to change the standard to be what she wants it to be, instead of adhering to the existing standard… and then if you don’t like it, “you must be a misogynist!”
This mentality is scary and it comes from having opportunity and privilege, but with no accountability or expectations. We can’t sit a tell young girls that they can “do or be anything they want” but at the same time, have no expectations for how they then participate.
She has subsided in delusion, and only surrounds herself with those whom will validate her delusions … and then they all protect her from ever having to face reality. It’s pretty scary!!! Especially when people like this gain a place of “power”, and then gatekeep opportunity with their own delusions…

Dr. Grande accepted the challenge that Rachel Gunn gave to the world: Here is his analysis of her dubious "percentage score" defense.
In calling her bluff, Raygun now looks even worse.
    Observe:
    ruclips.net/video/ILPB0YDhDz4/видео.htmlsi=rVQToBtenQBHHbU2&t=6m7s
In the 2023 World Championship, Rachel Gunn placed 64th out 80 competitors...the Bottom 20% is certainly not "world class" for the following year's Olympics where only 17 slots were available for the Women's competition.
Her Oceania tournament excluded younger contestants due to a requirement that expensive Passports had to be presented. Also, the announcement of the Oceania tournament was made just a few days prior, making it difficult for many to attend (there were only 15 women in that tournament compared to over 30 for the men)
Viewing the video here will show that the Olympic Judges considered her performance to be dismal.
She is not entitled to sympathy. Her PhD should have made her even more aware that she lacked sufficient ability to champion this athletic event at the ultimate world stage.

Rupha doesn’t know talent nor is anyone who moved her forward into Olympic competition. The zero score was a compassionate socore. Ridiculous is not a score which should have been given. What a mockery. The fact that she thinks she’s good engough to compete in the Olympics means she doesn’t belong there.

Raygun knew exactly what she was doing. Had no chance of winning so turned in a train wreck performance to get herself some fame and international headlines. She will be a minor celebrity with requests to appear on reality TV shows when she returns to Australia

Someone should start an investigation into Anna Maeres and the Australian Olympic committee who were complicit with this fiasco. And Raygun and husband should return the money Australia spent in their Paris holiday!!!!!!!!! and she loves being a victim, her smile as she said " I am totally breaking stereotypes" is so aggravating!!!!! she is full of herself. May be an official investigation into what she did illegally to get a Paris holiday for free will wipe that smile from her face.....

  • @alip2107

Oh that's ridiculous. She's not a professional dancer. Anyone who has actually seen professional break-dancing would know this. Sure, it was "original" but that doesn't mean it was good. It wasn't even well executed either. I don't hate her - but she's not good enough to have gone to the olympics. This is more of a talent-show variety dance level.

I follow a talented young man on RUclips who though he may be very smart and skilled is not a professional break dancer at all yet he re-created this hilarious performance to the tea. In my opinion I think that proves that Ron has no business being in the Olympics. if she had to work hard to be able to do what he re-created in one day then I don't think she is the most qualified for this sport
