I'm so glad you did this song, Noga is so talented! The music feels to me like a Tarantino movie. This song hits very differently if you listen from an Israeli perspective. To me, it talks about the sense of betrayal we all felt from the world after October 7th and the complicated relationship we have with the West. The part about the desert and the snow is about many of us coming from mixed families of Middle Eastern (Desert) and European (snow) descent. When they yell at us to go back to where we came from we are everywhere because we have nowhere else to go.
The part in the song where she says "Mommy from the desert, daddy from the snow, and I'm everywhere cause I got nowhere to go" This is the melody of a Jewish prayer called "Shalom Aleichem" They sing about the pain of the Jews, and of Israel and the love and connection we thought we had to the West, and after October 7 they all turned their backs on us. This song is like a love/ hurt/ mad letter to some parts of the usa and the west, about turning their back to israrl and the jews when we were at their lowest point,when israel "loved them all along"...there are references for jews having no home but israel, references to the protests against israel in campuses, tearing down posters of hostages and stuff like that...not an easy song but a great one❤🎗️🎗️🎗️
