Speaker sims are huge. Usually I play through an amp and cab, but when I can't I've got an IR pedal with the same speakers as my cab and a MXR 5150 distortion pedal and it sounds pretty close to the real thing, mostly loses out a bit on the low end and sometimes getting the reverb right out of a PA is tricky vs my amp that I've dialed in already.
A lot of guitarists went distorted right into the board, Jimmy Page, David Gilmour, John Lennon etc. Its not the most versatile sound by any means but it works sometimes
Yes. You can also tell that it's mirrored whenever he wears a t-shirt with writing on. But also by the fact that it's not that easy to get your hands on a left-handed violin
