Buddha being here is somewhat coherent with the concept of boddhisatva - enlightened beings choosing to stay on earth (or going back to earth, since enlightenment means reaching nirvana?) to help and guide people in the eightfold path
Dope, I had not idea. The only context in which I've seen Bodhisattva's mentioned or used was in HxH and I totally forgot about the concept.
While I don't know enough about Buddhism to say either way, it definitely sounds like valid reasoning.
There is an issue with Buddha being as much of a fighter in the series given in Buddhism he basically just flexes on other gods (like disappearing or just saying “hey that’s goofy”) and they go “oh guess you are right my bad”, even Mara the antithesis of Buddha got converted into a Buddhist, by Upagupta a follower of Buddha.
There are dozens of stories where the cosmos just lets him win, because he’s Buddha.
Lu Bu was able to be hanged because he was still mortal. How I see it as is that souls are more durable than their human body plus Lu Bu is being amped by his weapon partner. That's the only reason why the humans are able to fight and harm the gods.
I don't believe that was ever stated. They do seem to get a decent boost from their Volund, but not from actually occupying soul form.
Also, he was already strong enough disperse cloud-clover with a swing of his halberd (and his body was durable enough to withstand that force as well).
@@theoverthinker348 Yeah it was never stated it was just the way I saw it. It just makes more sense to me that way cus Jack would die from one hit if he didn't get some sort of a boost. Also Lu Bu didn't fight back when he was set to br killed, bro literally yawned before he was he killed.
@@truedounutss9045 I getcha. Jack tanking ANY hits from Herc bothered me a whole lot, as mentioned in the vid.
While I don't think that's an established part of the world building (which is what I'm looking at), I think Herc would've looked much better if it was; which you can see reflected in my tier list at the end of the video.
@@theoverthinker348 Yeah I totally agree but to be fair every hit Jack took damage him greatly. If Lu Bu for example took those hit it would affect him a lot less.

Genuinely great to hear. That one line creates so much confusion. The Big G question still stands on its own even without the Jehovah references at least.
Im pretty sure the big G from the bible was named dropped. He was stated to be hades elder brother.
Maybe they hated humanity because of adam he was really busted and from a strength stand point stronger than all gods but (Zeus and may be the BIG G)
Hades does indeed reference a "Jehovah", referring to him as his "bro". The thing is that we know Hades is the eldest amongst the 4 Olympian brothers. Him being the eldest was a huge part of his character. That Jahovah is definitely not literally Hades' (older) brother and almost certainly not the God as the Bible would describe him for reasons described in the vid.
Who he's supposed to be or what role he's supoosed to fill... no idea.
@@theoverthinker348 maybe the one who pushed for humanity's creation. He may be the one who made adam, the second strongest at this point in the series. It would also made sense as none of the gods cared about humans they didn't come up with them. (They rule them and some may helped but they didn't seem invested)

Firstly love the video, good points with the issues about world building from the hanging to Jack and such things there’s also manga stuff with characters like Apollo for example that are just off…
Buddha in RoR is also one of the worst Buddha representations ever, several Buddhists I talk to actually find his appearance, personality, and things he does just actually offensive and I fully understand.
There is issue with Prose Edda too for the Norse stuff. Like Thor is supposed to be dead if he’s already fought the Midgard Serpent (Jörmungandr), Loki doesn’t appear to be a giant, Thor’s hammer is just supposed to be heavy ..
Greek Gods aren’t supposed to be immortal and literally unkillable
The Lord of Flies and Satan stuff.. just bothers me especially with Lucifer getting done in like that?
The world building alone was eh? but by using real world gods and the lack of powers over all and the weird way humans are compared to them with and without their divine weapons… it feels shoddy and done to look pretty and sound “super mega cool and exciting”
Also based Umineko comparison?
I would love to see your take on World Building for a few different series though such as; DandaDan, Toriko, Made in Abyss, Baki, One Piece, Delicious in Dungeon, Full Metal Alchemist or even Seven Deadly Sins.

DandaDan is a great suggestion. I like the art style for the most part and the little I've seen looks super weird and over the top. I'll definitely check it out at the very least.
BAKI! HOW did I NOT think of it sooner... I need to re-read and re-watch it since it's been a while but it's going to the top of the list. While it definitely has a LOT of "weird" stuff to point out, I am worried about how over-analyzable they'll be. But eh, I'm sure I'll find some stuff as I'm researching.

@theoverthinker348 Additionally, Beelze's staff may have drawn inspiration from a walking stick for visually impaired individuals, itself inspired by bats and their echolocation ability. These walking staffs are designed to release vibrations that, upon hitting nearby objects, trigger vibrations in the said staff to alert the user of an object in their proximity.|

Beelzebub literally losing sight of himself when Satan takes over could be a good narrative theme if his cane was inspired by the echo-location canes.
Finnaly someone, who says the Jack is overused, and most overrated character in history. Seriously, do even Japanese know who it was in real life. I think they only heard stories about him. Olso too manny japanes and greek!!!

@@theoverthinker348 Olso, now Jack is evem more overrrated, when you hear about what are doing young people in England. Its like it turned there to assasin zone, without reasson. Olso agree that Fate design=stupid design (mostly, not all, but mostly)
To be honest I didn't even know Jack the Ripper was ever mentioned in any other anime. That particular fight was very cringey, and not pleasant to watch,
What I would have changed in the story, and I think many fans agree, I would change the outcomes of the Adam v Zues and Jack v Hercules.
Adam lost the fight due to "OVER HEATING" I would understand if the system he was using was AC3 on a old Thinkcenter but...

As predicted, imma have to disagree heavily with your take on the jack vs herc round. It's pretty clear that Hercules was holding back. Jack is portrayed to be pretty strong for human standards with stuff like him hauling around the disassembled big ben. He was only able to win because of strategic superiority and his opponent being naive. He won, but he was broken both physically and emotionally afterwards. It's not like he won an endurance contest against Hercules, he just took a few hits because of his high pain tolerance and tenacity.
THAT BEING SAID. The jack the ripper spinnoff manga deserves its own video. It's... weird world building to say the least.
And that's completely fine! Here're my thoughts:
This manga is... extremely excplicit in almost everything it does. If Herc was truly holding back, I would've fully expected Ares, Hermes, Zeus or at least Jack himself to notice and mention it (either outloud or at least as an inner thought).
Now, as far as Jack's physical feats go: the dude's absolutely superhuman, but I view that as somewhat of a minimum in order to be selected for Ragnarok in the first place. The thing is that there's no justification for him being on the skill or durability level of any of the other martial atrists or physical specimens whose backstories focus on those aspects of their character. Jack's backstory focused on his character, trauma and ability to see 'auras', but barely touched on on his skills, power, and, most importantly, durability. While offensive capicity is somewhat equalized due to the Volund, Jack's does nothing to boost his durability outright.
All in all, it doesn't take much for me to justify not liking him considering my mentioned biases towards Ripper-inspired characters. I'm just annoyed at the fact that I had to scale down Herc because of it.

The powerscaling on this verse makes 0 sense and I am pretty sure it is not meant to make sense. It is pretty much a turn off your brain and fights go "birrr". Thats all it should be
