SUPERBOOTH 2024: Dreadbox - Murmux Polysynth

- At Superbooth 2024 we met up with Orfeas from Dreadbox who introduced us to the third, and probably final edition of Murmux*, which in this iteration has 8 voice polyphony. Murmux has 2 oscillators per voice, each with wave folding and envelope, noise or LFO modulations. There is a master detune and glide, and each voice gets a 24dB low pass and a 6 dB high pass filter, a bass boost for the high pass and there are 2 envelopes per voice. *Murmux gives you 9 syncable LFOs which is one per voice and one global, and using the target button you can send modulations just about anywhere.
It comes with a classic BBD and also the delay from the Erebus which can give chorus type effects.

Excellent demo! Wish there was a little more information on if the VCO,VCF, and VCA are discrete like the Murmux line or if it’s ICs like the Nymphes.

Sounds amazing, and I like the unique control features. For me, it doesn't sound £2,759 amazing, but if money hadn't been an issue, of course I'd have bought one.
Compared to a Prophet 5 or an OB8x I'd say the 2699€ are ok!
@@earodeafchildit’s much more interesting than them, but they were ridiculous prices too (in value for money terms). You’re not having buyers remorse already are you? I’m betting that was what your inner voice was telling you as you pressed the purchase button ;)
@@Farold_Haltermeyer True, I think the Dreadbox is way more interesting with MPE and P/A (and most of all its sound) than a P5 or OB8x at least in my ears. Guess that’s why I still don’t own one of them and yes, I had buyers remorse. I have remorse with every synth I buy, even cheaper ones but most of the time I have good intuition of what fits my setup and it's vanishing with the first track. Otherwise there’s a thing called 30days money back warranty 😉
@@earodeafchild only joshing :) I doubt MASSIVELY that within seconds of plugging it in that you won’t be grinning from ear to ear as it purrs away...it has character by the bucketload and they’ve made sure that it’s just special. Enjoy :) and please do share up some sonic gubbins if you can

They can make everything cheaper but first someone else has to build it for them so B can clone it…
@@earodeafchild- B just recreate the synths that people want. To be fair, they could easily charge +50% and their stuff would still be cheap.
