Earlier this year (february 2023) i bought my first ever PC (for gaming purposes), an RX 6600XT/RYZEN 5 5600 and since ive never had a decent gaming experience because of my crappy laptop, i decided to build one of the most optimal pc's with my budget and optimize the crap out of it for gaming, sekiro was the very first game i played on that computer and to this day it remains an absolutely legendary experience and even though ive been zealously playing dozens of games so far sekiro remains the only game that i consistently come back to replay through (i even beat the shura gauntlet and got the skin on NG+5!!) Absolutely legendary game!!!
Love to hear it mate, I've been an Xbox man since the 360 and about a year ago I did the same and built my optimal pc build. Having a great time playing pc games but I still play sekiro on Xbox. Glad you enjoyed it and well done on completing the shura gauntlet! it really is a special game and I think the ridiculously satisfying combat is what makes it so replayable
This game never clicked for me. I beat it. And after the first playthrough I was like Yep no more for me. I’m good. Way too hard. But it’s fromsoft so of course it was brilliant and gorgeous in its own twisted way. Loved it. Can recommend Lies of P! It’s kinda like Sekiro/Bloodborne/Darksouls all combined into one. It’s tough but if you mastered Sekiro’s parry system you’ll totally dominate in this game. Cheers man. Glad you enjoyed another Fromsoft masterpiece!
I've been hearing this exact issue a lot lately. Wonder why some games just don't click for some people? For me, when I was fighting Genichiro I actually had a magical 'click' moment, an exact moment which I can pinpoint, like everything completely fell in place and it felt like I completely understood the entirety of the game's combat system. Although, after Sekiro (which was my first souls game) I got the platinum trophy on Elden Ring and DS1, and am currently playing through DS2, but I never had that same click with the combat in these games. Even after nearing 350 hours with these two and being 15 hours into DS2, rolling to dodge still feels unnatural and the punishing windows still feel odd. I can still brute force through them, but it doesn't feel like I 'grasped' the fight, but rather I just forced my way through it. I would assume that's how you felt like in Sekiro. Elden Ring easily had my favorite combat obviously being new and better, but even with the smooth rolling and really good hitboxes, the combat was never as satisfying as Sekiro in any way. I've also just finished playing through Resurrection, which is a Sekiro mod that overhauls most of the game, and making especially the Genichiro and Sword Saint Isshin fights way more punishing, adding some new moves and mostly different combos. Despite this making them feel like completely bosses, also having longer combos, fighting being faster paced and way more punishing, I've practically mastered the mod in around 8 hours, being able to no hit any of the overhauled main bosses. To put it into contrast, another harder new experience after finishing the base game, just like the mod, was the Elden Ring DLC. I think it took me at least 6 hours just to get through Dancing Lion. I basically gave up at Rellana, not enjoying fighting her one bit, I just summoned my mimic to get through her, which was a recurring concept in the rest of my DLC playthrough. (other than the Messmer fight, which was really fun) Feels like I just can't "git gud" enough in Elden Ring, even after playing the game for 250 hours. I love everything about the game other than its combat.
Took me until now before it clicked. I just got done with it and it's an absolute masterpiece. Before, i didnt liked it. Thought it was too hard and doesnt make sense. But i quit Dota 2 not too long ago and finally appreciating other games. Now Sekiro is my number 2 favorite game. 1 of course is the Mafia series hehe
