Trekking the Mountain Gorilla in Rwanda. Taken at Volcano National Park in the Virunga Mountains. With guides you are taken on a trek to locate the gorillas. Each group is given a family to locate and spend one hour with. Park rangers will head out in the morning to try and locate your family. We spent two hours before we came upon the Gashinga Family. This was so beautiful I couldn't imagine how awesome it truly is being right there next to them... The rangers look likw such good ppl & I wish I could tell them how much we appreciate them doing all that they do... Anyways hope the gorilla numbers keep going up bc if they ever go extinct I would be so heartbroken as I am sure many ppl would be so may all the rangers be safe & the gorills I loved this & I hope the world sees what we see in them bc they are so magnificent don't know hiw anybody can harm something that seems to be at peace always to themselves!!
They are so beautiful and the people take great pride in the Mountain Gorilla. Ellen DeGeneres just built, in 2018 a 12 acre science and education campus for the Diane Fossey Gorilla Fund helping them save the Mountain Gorilla. The people of Africa are the kindest carrying people I have met in my travels.
These mountain gorilla are protected well and in Uganda is were you find the largest Number of these mountain gorillas world wide and to trek them in Uganda only a permit is at $ 700
