Thanks for the video, great guide. I've made this jump once before but cannot do it again on my second character.
Any tips for the timing of the jump? Direction to hold the stick during the jump?

I think it's more of a timing thing, although I tend to angle to the right most of the time. Either way, you've gotta jump basically just before coffin.

Right as you step on the coffin is when you need to jump. Too early, or too late, it'll fail.

The 1.3 Patch may have patched this. Not certain, but I seems so.

Any advice for the second jump? I always fall down on the false side or get stuck "inside" the church :/ (unpatched version)

yes they should leave it,get blades of mercy and skip to level weapon early and then wreck everything.from soft left cheats in demos souls and dark souls.
