- Only information I didn't cover was audio dead spots which can mask noises you make but thats more advanced and reliant on map knowledge as well as audio covered my mod noises which I am pretty sure is 20M but I could be wrong, the math to get the distances was reliant on the fact that modules are 32x32M which I could then use the grid on the minimap to figure out exact audio distances
i have 3k hours in this game, this is the type of content i need, no bs and stuff i already know, only hardcore information and facts. Keep it up bro, earned a new sub
Shift walk for life. Doesn't matter. The same ranger always seems to know exactly where I am. By the time I see him I'm dead.
I could swear that in ruins the sound is all fucked up, when my friend are walking behind me and I’m close to a wall it sounds like someone is infringing me because it seem like there’s an echo. But could also just be the ruins paranoia kicking in
Super high quality video. Thanks a lot!
5:58 I forgot to lower ingame audio, sorry I am not a professional edittor
Very high quality video keep up the good work bud!
Really makes me wonder about shift crouch walking.
But awesome video, thanks so much!
amazing analisys thanks!
The other reason I like shift walking more is the fact that it’s slow. Range aside it’s way easier to notice and identify the fast tap tap tap of crouch walking. Shift walking frequency doesn’t set off my panic nearly as much when heard. So you can get a few more steps in before they actually notice and identify the sound
you can also shift+crouch walk i know it’s even slower i dont know if it is any louder than crouch walking though
No creep?😢
Anyway great jib, ty for sharing!
creep reduces crouch from 15m to 10m 0:08
Wearing different shoes makes your audio louder and quieter.
Laced turnshoe are the quietest pair, plate and heavy boots are the loudest
Do you have any links proving this?
@@duncangreywater use your ears and common sense, if you have either. dunce.
@@hahahahaha7237 so, you don't have any links proving this?
I love you, more content like this!!!❤
You forgot the skinnypete walking where you never crouch or press shit and having voip on while talking to everyone around XD
great vid, killin it
Should make a part two with ranger chase, rouge that shift walks with creep and also sound ques of a cleric out of range that casts a healing spell of someone who is in range, I feel like theres a lot of more cool ideas with exploring the sound in this game
I would like to know about Bard songs, i feel like sometimes i hear them from miles away but next second they are next to me.
interesting stuff
W video
nice video! did u try shift crouch walking?
I fixed the title for you
How Audio Doesn't Work in Dark and Darker
Great video! You mic audio is pretty quiet, I think turning it up a bit could help!
I literally didnt know shift walking was a thing
It’s useful you can stay in rogue stealth while shift walking like crouching
Same,this is a game-changer for me
please make a video showing rogue creep fall off
He addresses this in the first 10 seconds of this video
Thx for the nice Info. Could you check the same with ranger and chase perk?
You didn’t test the chase perk on ranger . Do you know how much chase changes this?
how does in game audio being lowered affect this i play at 50% volume so i can hear coms in disc id assume someone at 100% would hear this stuff much clearer then i would at 50% im sure the cutoff remains the same but audio should affect it in some way no?
You can walk and crouch at the same time, and holding heavy items make you even slower->less frequent footstep noises. Does doing that use the 10m walking distance or the 15m crouching distance?
10M cut off distance with -80% MS
@@KuffandKuffer awesome, ty
Any difference with crouch + walk?
No, the the MS is still -59% like tiptoeing but the noise drop off is still 10M
Edit: I was incorrect with crouch and shift walking its -80% movement speed but the cutoff is still 10M
@@KuffandKufferso if you want to have the least noise, it seems always best to crouch and shift walk, since you’ll be likely smaller to spot but move at the same speed as normal shift-walking.
@@MylesJacobSwie Yes that would be the case but I double checked and there is a multiplicative -MS so its 35% on crouch, 59 % on shift walk and 80% with both shift walk and crouch
@ sike then lol
How about crouch-shift walking? Is it also 10m? How about crouch-shift-walking backwards? Makes almost no sound in game, but wondering what the perspective is for someone else
Sick vid, but why is "yellow text black background" at the bottom of the first part?😂
Funny you use the word "work". That shit broken 🤣
