This scene had me and my parents cracking up, my family is Latino with my mom being jewish and my dad being catholic. We end up standing out a-lot since we live in south texas which is very much in the Christian belt. I dated a white girl who was like this and they really had a thing for kids who are very different to the typical white christian and also have a Jesus fetish. Hell my brother is dating a girl who could possibly be like this. Anyways I loved the film and really connected to Sammy since I’m also studying film and aiming to work as a film director. A lot of the stuff that Sammy does is one to one with what I’ve done throughout my relationship with filmmaking. From filming school events, to making movies with friends and showing them off to big crowds at film festivals or local community centers like the JCC. I believe that Sammy is not only a representation of Spielberg himself but a representation of every kid dreaming of becoming a filmmaker.

I remember when I saw this movie last week and yesterday I remembered a scene where Sam was talking about Logan's girlfriend and Monica I have to say that Monica is very beautiful but she was very besmitting by Sam. At least we can clarify that this is not the woman Steven Spielberg married and then divorced maybe it is true maybe there was somebody like Monica who was Steven Spielberg's first girlfriend. I know Sam felt felt very much in love with her personally if this was an alternate story the ending should have been where he continues to write to Monica and when spring break rolls around they see each other again. But I love the fact that she was willing to pray for him but honestly he never should have left after the movie he made for his High School prom. I'm curious to see if that's what Steven Spielberg did in real life but personally there should have also been an ending where she walks down the hall and sees him and they make up and I can't imagine how amazed she would have been when he finally stood up against Logan and Chad. But I guess some things are best left unsaid.

If Spielberg accepted Jesus Christ then he's saved and will be in Heaven as head of the entertainment team. This confessional that Jesus Christ is King so late in his life speaks odes to the fact that Spielberg will be given 'eternal life' security and that his soul was spared the Eternal Lake of Fire.

An adolescent boy gets beaten up in front of his peers. Then a pretty girl gets attracted to him. Is this realistic in any way?
When an adolescent boy gets beaten up in front of his peers, he loses social status. Girls (especially pretty girls who can pick and choose) prefer boys with high social status.
Unless it is a case of a girl with a maternal instinct to have compassion for the loser of a fight.

To use another example, do you walk out of movies whenever an evil cult is depicted on screen? Many of these are inspired by crazy “Christians” as well.
Unfortunately, there will always be people who misunderstand Christianity and force it upon others instead of it being their choice. This movie portrays that.
