Thank you so so much for this. I’m an upcoming Area Manager and I want you to talk on the steps you did to leave your sort location and how the promotion came up. I’ll also like to connect with you. Bless
Hi, Loved your video - super insightful. I have been seeing alot of importance being put into 'to look after your people'. I start the job on the 7th of october and was wondering what tips do you have to ensure that everyone feels loved and motivated at the same time.
Congratulations Take the time to get to know your people especially your direct reports. Each person is different - so treat them as such. they’ll pick up on you being genuine and you’ll earn their trust
How did you get in? I’ve applied to many operations manager roles within Amazon and have yet to hear anything. My applications hasn’t been looked at either. They all say application submitted
Amazon is a joke in the fulfillment center. I was told by my OM to resign and reapply if I wanted to be an AM. That's not a guarantee and a joke. I am a floor lead in inbound and floor lead for Problem solve plus I have a BA degree. What's the problem other than I am a L1 trying to be a L4/L5. Any suggestions
@DailyBread-qg9guso let me get this clear. You have a BA degree and was working at Amazon as L1, you were told in order to apply for AM using your degree, you have to resign and apply? Instead you stayed as L1 used career choice for another BS degree, and since you are in college, you applied for AM and immediately got the job? I am still an L1, applied for AM after just receiving my BS degree and didn't get the job. Probably because I failed assessment. What's your thought on how this process goes?
@DailyBread-qg9gu I actually reached out to Amazon Campus Next Recruiting Team and said that I am eligible to apply as a college hire through external. Do you mind giving me some pointers on the assessment? How do I PM you please give me your email
@@CiegiLaPriest Thank you. I applied online so I don't have any contact information just yet. I did reach out to a few recruiters I found on LinkedIn. I'll try to find hiring managers as well.
Which position are you referring up? AM or OM I’m pretty sure they require an active ID - possibly drivers license is a requirement or have a way to get to and from work
@@CiegiLaPriest Quick question: Do you think it would be possible to ask my manager when I get onsite about switching my LEW to Tennessee instead of Seattle? Tennessee is just five hours away from me and I have to drive 35 hours to Seattle for AD1 because I cannot do flights. Or if that’s not possible, do you think my manager will be able to get me approval to travel outside of the travel periods. For instance, Saturday instead of Monday, so I can get there on time or just do virtual? I haven’t asked yet because I don’t want to seem like a bother.
@@Jen281 Thanks, I’m on the road now heading for AD1. Thank good I have 800 miles left. I’m definitely going to ask Learning then. So, just go straight to learning and not my Manager?
I work in a TNS building and out learning manager coordinates the onboarding schedule of new hires. You can tell your manager but I would imagine the learning manager would be more helpful with this problem.
What’s the best Amazon management job where you kind of work from home and work in the warehouse. I’m soon getting out the military and have a MBA in supply chain and want some similar to Air Force or work from home and have the option to come in and have probably a day shift only?
Congrats on getting out the military. I would say start doing some research now with keywords, because within the company there are so many jobs however, most jobs in the warehouse are not work from home as you have to be there for production but if you get into a program management position and or some type of quality control role, you may be able to do something like that.
Thanks for the video. Just had the interview Thursday and hoping for the best!
Good luck!!!! Hoping for the best for you as well

What location are you working in? I got hired in December before graduating university and start in April.
Best of luck

Hey
To be honest, it was a while before they reached back out … I honestly forgot that I applied. I found the opening through LinkedIn.

Your OM probably gave you the best advice, it just may take longer to reach your goal on your current route
Your OM is not wrong but you need to be a tier 3 first if you want to be L4.
Flexible is a prerequisite in any role!
PERIOD - a necessity
Thanks for very insightful video, what their Avarage Salary for Area Manager Amazon?
Honestly it differs for so many people based on experience and area… it’s hard to say average because it’s school extremes
Any recommendations for following up on AAM applications?
I would check for updates on the site and reach out to recruiter on the application or hiring manager for an update

Were you required to have a valid drivers license for the position?

You should ask the learning manager to change your LEW location. Driving that far is crazy.
