Nice one Jerome, belated congrats for reaching your "milestone" birthday, now you've got the next 50 years of Synth-time to look forward too :) , all the best, Keith
The Easel can go pretty wild, but patches like these show the simple and beautiful side. Arpeggio + drone/bass played on the keyboard + reverb. Done. Wonderful!
Thanks a lot. It’s true that I have always been on the gentle side. I love the melancholic quality of the Easel. But I live the crazy FM or AM one can get out of it as well. And I tend to use it in that way when it comes to overdubs in multitracks pieces.
Hey THAMEL, firstly congratulations on the half century catching up with me now. Really enjoyed this. I have never gone down the Buchla route but after this I could be tempted. Nice one.
Thank you so much ! The Easel was my second semi modular after the 0-Coast. I got it for a really decent price on the fall of 2017. Not so much hype about it back then. And it was immediate interaction and joy. This one will never leave my studio.
@@daniel_mana Yes and no. Yes because you're in the same sonic family., you'll get pretty pretty close. And no because what makes the Easel so unique is it's interface. So that you play the Easel like no other instrument out there.
Great piece of work! I love this kind of music. How do you find this compared to the shared system (I see in the corner)? I have the shared and really find it inspiring, but I've always lusted after the Easel. Thanks!
Thank you for your kind words. Easel & MNSS have in common that they're thought out instruments. And that Buchla had an major influence over some Make Noise modules like the DPO. I would say they're very different but part of the same family. The Easel operates very differently, it's more "limited" and will need some external effects ( at least in my case). The keyboard changes radically how you approach it.
@@thamelmusic Oh, I thought the p was for portbellabz haha! I'm thinking about getting an order in. Do you by any chance have experience with the 208c in comparison? Is portabellabz the way to go?
@@ola4150 Well firstI never played an official BEMI USA so I can’t tell. What I know is that Portabellabz work is fantastic, with lots of care about the client. BEMI quality control is not that fantastic I believe. And another factor is the location: Belgium, where both of us live. Maybe the best Easels nowadays are made in Belgium 🇧🇪 !
Bienvenu chez les 50tenaires ! j'en ai un petit de plus :D et toi tu nous offres ce cadeau pour ton anniv ??? Alors meme si c'est le monde à l'envers merci pour ce super moment !
Beautiful peice! And thank you for showing the close ups of knob positions. Fascinating.
Thank you so much for listening and your kind words, I truly appreciate.
I think this is it for me - I am buying Buchla. That sounds just right and composition is very inspiring in its simplicity. Love it. 🤍
@@MichaBrodaprofile Thank you very much ! I would check Portabellabz work. He built mine with lots of love and care.
love it! welcome to 50 my friend

@@thamelmusic c’est la base des Synthe analogiques :) tu as vu mon dernier jouet ?
@@baslespatches1083 Il me semble avoir aperçu un module noir et or d"assez grande taille en effet ...

Absolutely brilliant and beautiful. Long live Buchla. And you!

Libra season! Happy birthday man🎉 I’m right behind you. Can’t get enough of this piece. I got it going on repeat. ♥️
Thank you Jon ! It's always a great pleasure to read your feedback, as watching your amazing vids.
Beautiful! I’m building my first eurorack and thinking of going the buchla way with the tiptop audio buchla modules…awesome jam
Thank you so much ! Well if I was to start again my Eurorack road I think I’d go this way too. Happy patching !
@@thamelmusic thanks man! do you think that with the tiptop/buchla system you can get close to the easel sounds?

Sounds good. Idk why I’m getting stranger things vibes with this but yes, great 👍
Thanks a lot for listening. Sometimes this one makes me think of a Radiohead/Thom Yorke 's song but can't remember the name.

Avec un peu de retard, je te souhaite un bel anniversaire qui ne fait qu’annoncer plus encore de très belles créations. Un très très beau track ! 🖤⚡️🖤
Merci Jonathan, ça me fait plaisir. Vraiment.
Yep, can’t say this enough, the Easel does more than bleeps, bloops and fart noises. I love mine!
Can’t agree more. Thanks for checking my stuff !
manque un petit pulsar23 pour la rythmique..
👍
Merci ! Manque les dollars pour le Pulsar. Mais de toute façon je ne compte pas introduire de rythmiques dans ce projet.
Is this the 208p by any chance?
No it it’s not. It’s a 2014 Roman Rev1. Made by Portabellabz, the very first one he ever made.
