Max Weber a German philospher wrote about bureaucracy . In that he wrote this concept in midieval time it was based on the concept that bureaucrats are recruitment on the basis of kinship relations . But after the industrial revolution and modernisation came then respect to position not person recruitment through merit based not based on relationship . Law and rules followed there . Hierachy of power . Work based on hierarchy etc .

Pros are like organised structure in modern genration , rules not of impersonal relation , based on merit etc . Another thing that it is iron like structure red bureaucry leads to corruption etc .

It is based on the merit not any relation . Economic structure of capitalism , social structure of the liberalism and political aspect of democracy . Closed structure of organization . It also regarded as negative .

Weber, Taylor, Fayol, Gullick, Urwick all comes under classic theories...you may have to explain bit of all these...explain the common theme of the classic theory....more focus on organisation, less on human/employees who were treated more as machine...cog in the wheel...

Vision of efficient , rational and rule based organization .
It is helpful in modern organization .
Minus ..
It is very rigid based on rules and law . Not based on individual hierarchy division make corrupted and not based on person thing . Not suitable for 3 world developing countries .
