Went with round lenses this time. Lens width went down from 53mm to 49mm, but the lens height increased by a few millimeters. Now the thickest edge of the lens is at the bottom, instead of the outer edges. Gotta say, it doesn't look very pretty. Also my eyes appear even smaller. Lenses are around -10, 1.74 index of course.
I've been wondering about the top and bottom thickness with rounder frames, yeah. I'm -8 plus -1.5 astigmatism in my worse eye, and I'm thinking of trying bificals, which would need to be CR-39 rather than my usual 1.67. I'll see what the smallest frames in the shop are!
@@Quilter1977 As small as possible without looking silly, that's your best bet for sure. Mine are too big, the distortion is too much and I just can't seem to get used to these 100%. My balance is a bit off all the time
@@samulai Thanks. Any chance they've been made up wrong? You didn't buy them online, did you? I'm hoping to get 45-47 eye size, at least there's one advantage to being 4'11". I'll start by looking in the kids' section. But the deepest glasses I've ever had have been 33, which was with high index, and these round ones are 41 or 42.
@@Quilter1977 I actually had them re-made under their warranty. No change. They're simply big and strong and that's uncomfortable and difficult to live with, not much to do there to improve anything 😃 Not an online store. I hope you found your glasses.
I actually have a second pair of round frames now, these sit closer to my face and that makes a huge difference to everything - observed eye size, vision, comfort, peripheral vision, everything. Make sure you can barely fit a finger between your eye and the lens.
I was hoping for some more demonstrations then that because I really want know how optometrist. Put lenses in prescription glasses rather good or not because I've always wanted to know just optometrist put the lenses inside of the frames itself.
Muhammad Azim Noor Azmi hypermetropia corrected with convex lens, it's thickness is in the centre of the lens.so In hypermetropia frames size is not a problem.😊😊
Amazing example of how important lense shape is for those of us who want thinner lenses. Thanks for making these videos!
I knew round was the way to go, but it's incredible to see the EXACT difference. It's not abstract anymore.
