Spot on with your comments regarding the OMJM. I bought mine new 5 years ago and every year that goes by it opens up and the wood ages, gets more orange, and less stiff to play. Excellent guitar!
Just got mine today. It absolutely sings. I take it out of the case just to look at it's so dang beautiful. Can't wait to log many miles on this guitar for years to come! It really does have the JM signature sound.
People who are looking at the best budget Martin should buy the MMV models . I'm currently wanting a OM MMV . I have the dreadnought MMV with the ebony fretboard. Some were made with richlite and I think that is what led players away from them . They are all USA made . It was a Guitar Center exclusive model . I've seen some going for under $1k . That is a great deal in today's market .
I traded my Taylor for the OMJM a few months ago.. I can't put this guitar down it has a silky smooth sustain when finger picking that I just can't get enough of !
Could you start filming in landscape? Does not work well on anything other than phones. With phones you can flip. Not so easy with TV and computer :) Great playing, great guitars.
Love the video/ channel but I do disagree with one point. The OMJM uses a simple dove tail (which is cheaper/ easier for martin to manufacture). The OM28JM/ OM28/ OOO28EC all use a standard dove tail. For the premium up charge of the OMJM there isn't a reason other than cutting cost that a standard dove tail wasn't used.
Can totally understand, Martin and Fender don’t seem to have the same consistency as PRS. Some are definitely better than others. Edit; this can also be due to poor setups, humidity, strings etc.
One of the features that this guitar has a very distinct orange wood on the top. Is that a specific model? When I search for the OMJM, I cant find any in that color. Why is that? Is that just pure age?

Can you just play the damn guitar

Martin has fantastic budget models for sure. My first Martin was around $500 and was excellent.
great video. My OMJM is number 604! It is an early '07. Your two must be '06 first year of production! Those are fetching probably closer to 5k now!
Thank you! Yes I believe they are first year examples.
Your video just convinced me to get the JM over Eric Clapton. Thanks for the content!
I’m glad!! Enjoy your new guitar.

It really is great.
Have you played any of the modern deluxe series guitars? I have an OMJM but just snagged a 00-28MD and it sounds and plays fantastic
@@watches2329 yes I had a om28 MD as well. Lovely guitar
You mention that these sell used for $2300-2500. What site has them for this price? Cheapest I see them on reverb is $3200. Thanks!
@@kellengandy6262 they used to sell for this. A clean example will be over $4k for an earlier one, or around $3k for a modern one

Sure! I’ll try the next one landscape.

You are correct! 👍🏼
Excellent information man - I hope to pick one up sometime!
Let me know if there’s anything I can help with.
Love the OMJM. I got one and it sounds great!
Can we do a 228206 review too?
Sure! I’ll post some watch content next week.
Owned one and sold it within days. Its sound is so dull.

Hi, yes it is due to age. Try to get one 2012 or older and it’s been played it should have an oranger top.
Get back to us in a year when the binding starts falling off.
Hope not! It’s already almost 20 years old.
How fuckin rich are you
is it too big of a guitar for a girl with small hands?
It is an ideal guitar for someone with smaller hands because of the smaller neck. 👍🏼
can't stand john mayer
