My favorite Martin: My late father's 1963 D18. He played it loud and long and it is a cannon. Every mark on the neck was made with his hands. It is a treasure as an heirloom and an instrument

I dunno. I think Martin has done a good job maintaining the same 'classic' instrument they've always had. Taylor makes a superb instrument, no doubt, but I've always loved the clunky thumpy sound from a Martin. I'm more of a folk/bluegrass player when I have an acoustic in my hands, though.

I get that the clickbait titles get, well, clicks, but for what it’s worth I’d love an occasional video with a title and concept that isn’t laced with hyperbole and absolutes. I used to get a kick out of all your videos but over time the titles and your approach have started to come off as lacking authenticity. Just be you, Mike, not what the algorithm says will get the most views. That’s why so many of us subscribed in the first place.

Sound and playability was awesome. I played the 000CJR-10E StreetMaster and it didnt feel right to me. Body was too small for my liking. I have yet to play the 000-15 SM to validate it as my favorite Martin. Have also yet to buy one. Played a used SC-10E once too that was awesome. I need to save up a bit more money and spend some time playing the guitars again to determine which one to buy.

Re: pickups. Having now owned two guitars with K& K Pure Mini pickups, I would never fit an under saddle again, no matter how over-priced, whoops, sorry, expensive. Quite a few high makers use K&Ks and I can see why; they sound better than any under-saddle to my ears and the only work on the guitar required is a hole for the end-pin jack: they are not hard to drill if you are fairly handy.

Martin seems cool . . .I always wanted a Breedlove . . .but I ended up buying a $600 acoustic by Rondo Music by Agile - This was a good episode with Mike, but a trip into Korea, Indonesia, and China will reveal guitars (acoustic) most people haven't tried. I'm sure the best acoustic to get is the Martin - archtops are interesting, too . . .

Martin is for bluegrass. For blues, an old birch Harmony/Kay archtop, or an old resonator, will get the right sound a little bit more effortlessly for much cheaper. A Martin can do it all, but you'll pay for it🤣. And you'll have to use your playing skills to make it sound less "rich", less highs and lows, more mids. If you buy a Martin for blues, I'd recommend a smaller one, for that very reason. More punch, more mids, but less volume overall.
