He is so fascinating to me oh my gosh truly just an amazing soul. I was able to pick a middle name for my nephew and I chose Heath as a tribute to this beautiful man, bless him.
Heath always comes across as such a humble, thoughtful person during an interview. You can tell he was interested in acting as an art form as opposed to a vehicle for fame. He will be missed...
It's been a week and I still can't believe it. We've lost a wonderful actor, his performances in Monster's Ball and Brokeback Mountain are amazing. The saddest thing is that his daughter is now without a father.
In the final shot in Brokeback, Ledger posts a photo of the mountain to his closet in the ramshackle trailer he is living in, and then he breaks down and cries. Very few male actors could pull off the intense emotionality Health displayed in that scene. Possibly the greatest talent of his generation. He is sorely missed.
Can't wait to see his Joker. Another thing: You could never really tell whether or not he's an Aussie. He hid the "accent" well. We will all miss this wonderful actor.
would you have said that if he hadn't died? Celebrities become heroes if they die early. If Heath was alive he probably would have been in the tabloids for his lovelife, he would have detested how social media ruined any chance of privacy he had and he more than likely would have been getting into scraps with paparazzi. He hated interviews and was fidgety and nervous. He unfortunately had some vices that might have taken a stronghold on him. As such, he might have been seen in the same light as Shia LaBoeuf. He was a good actor and probably a nice guy, but early death ensured he is idolised.
I think he was the best male actor. I get goose bumps when I see his movies. If he was still alive movie companies would fight over him to have him in their movie.
IpodMute I'm sick of people saying people only idolise him because he died. He truly was one of the best actors of all time, and that's just from his short career before he died. You're entitled to your opinion of him as an actor, but don't claim that it's his death that made everyone think he was suddenly great.
Brett Wilson No, i said he was a good actor so get your temper under control and you might read properly. I said he is IDOLISED because of his death, not that he is only seen as a good actor since his death
He had a daughter he was so in love with and the movie was about to blow off the screen. Of course he would have loved to see it take off. But fate.. who can argue why this happens to the best of us.
I hadn’t seen this interview before. Heath somehow seems a bit more open here. I loved when he talked about the specific direction he received from Mr. Lee.
It's aazing how much he can say about a character. It really shows how much thought he puts into it. And everthing he says sounds so poetic... or is that just his accent.
I realize that Heath Ledger has not part of this world he was taken away so early before he could express his feelings and show us that life has more than just material effects to a persons life Love, enlightenment, righteousness , humanity and giving and mostly does not shy away from complementing greatness of other people . i love you Health Ledger
The video didn't show him doing any drugs. What it left out was him pointing to a tattoo of an M & saying it was a reminder of his daughter & why not to do drugs. He very well may have struggled w/ drugs but I think he acted so well b/c he felt things so intensely. That not only means feeling the good things but feeling the bad as intensely. Tuff burden to bear & why so many good actors pass on so young. Give his talent the respect it deserves & quit w/ the drug talk. Please....Tammy
Man he really was a great talent anyone who has that ability to express an individual who can't really express his inner emotions takes some skill. he was one of the goats miss you heath
I miss him. He was definitely one of those young talents that was way more about his craft then fame. He'd be in his own league if he were still alive today. R.I.P. Heath
You can see the difference on him looking at this interview and ones from shortly before he died. Here he's very thoughtful, calm, and articulate. In the later interviews he's antsy, always moving, distracted, and obviously on something. Sad.
Guys, I love him and miss him too, but would heath really want us mourning over him? I think he may want us to be happy. Remember he died doing something he wanted to do. Acting. Yes I REALLY miss him, but heath wouldn't want this. So just smile and know that he would be proud of you. Rip Heath Ledger
You could show me this interview and then every single character in every single superhero movie ever made, and the very last one I would ever pick would be TDK's Joker. I'd even pick Mr. Freeze and Catwoman first. THAT'S how insanely great of an actor he was to completely change his entire self for the role.
I just realized, I never watched his movies again. I tried once, right after his death, but remained paralized, because I'd lost the ability to see his characters. All I could see was that he was dead and that it sucked. Death makes me so angry at the world and everybody in it. People want in on it. They want so badly to be a part of that person, that isn't anymore. And why? Cause vanity.
I loved him as an actor, but in the interviews he gives he always seems uncomfortable and misplaced - as if he really wanted to be somewhere else. Could it be anxiety? I will miss seeing him in the movies.
Listening to this interview, he probably never should have chosen an address in a big city to settle down. He should have kept living in the wilderness. Most ideally, in his native Australia, and just commuted to the U.S. or U.K. or wherever else his presence was required.
Christopher Plummer said that Ledger had a "terrible, lingering bug in London, and he couldn't sleep at all. We all -- I thought he'd probably got walking pneumonia," he told EW.
He is so talented and good-looking! His firat oscar win should have been for his role of Ennis in Brokeback Mountain. To me, he was the winner! RIP Heath!
Thank you for all of your wonderful films Heath. I was skeptical when he was cast in Brokeback, because I only knew him as a teen heartthrobe. He proved everyone wrong and showed he had great talent and integrity as an artist. The saddest part about this (besides of course the tragedy of the daughter he leaves behind) is Heath's potential. All of the roles he will never play. It's a pity RIP Heath Ledger
God bless you buddy! You were a great actor! I am sure you are missed by those who got a chance to know you and others like myself who wished they knew you!
Thats all I meant when I used the word ignorant.....He was an actor....Thanks VERYCHOICE.....Heath won my heart in the movie Dogtown ....My son is a skater and my uncle was friend of Skip the man he portrayed....It just hit home for me....R.I.P.Heath
what a great movie.. his performance was brilliant, I could relate a lot to his character fighting himself and being unable to express himself, i think he played it wonderfully :)
Keep your ignorant views to yourself. God, this is such a tragic thing. Heath was such a great artist & in this clip he is poetic describing his character in Brokeback Mountain. Heath will be missed in this world. So heartbreaking.
The Dark Knight really showed his range and he showed all the nay-sayers wrong from the grave. It was a great swan-song. I don't think you can expect everyone to see him in his first American roles aimed at tweens. Or have to have watched every film of his to like his work in that film.
before batman dark night movie i didnt know who he was but after i finished the movie i searched him and saw some movies of him like patriots and the mountain something or somethign with mountain i cant remember at the moment, he's pretty good actor oh yeah and he s last and newest movie is imaginirium of dr. parnasus
@retrofann1 he was trying to get better, he was having insomnia and was very tired all the time, and at the time that he went to london to shoot the imaginarium of doctor parnassus he was sick and it was cold in london so that didn't help either. as someone already pointed out it was not suicide.
It's crazy to me that he's 26 years old in this interview. He had a presence and wisdom beyond his years.
He's too bright for this world
He was such a wise and beautiful person.
I...wish he was still alive.
He is so fascinating to me oh my gosh truly just an amazing soul. I was able to pick a middle name for my nephew and I chose Heath as a tribute to this beautiful man, bless him.
his words about this are so beautiful

@haylabox1662 still very sad to think about. But we try to focus on his good work

kmlgraph I cried a bucketload if tears watching that, Heath would be proud that people were affected so much by his performance
Can't wait to see his Joker. Another thing: You could never really tell whether or not he's an Aussie. He hid the "accent" well.
We will all miss this wonderful actor.
Well u were certainly not disappointed bcos his joker is one of the best performances in film history
Wow I was 8 when you made this comment. How much time has gone by.
@@benjaminmendezz I wasn’t even born yet!
He seemed to be very shy. It's a shame he never got a chance to come full circle. His best work was yet to come. RIP Heath.
Actors are either models or artists, Heath was the latter.

Gosh... I think I'm gonna download this clip just to be able to listen to his voice whenever I want. His voice is amazing.
Heath kind, talented, gorgeous Heath, it's been more than 16 years I still miss you I still think about you ❤️
I hadn’t seen this interview before. Heath somehow seems a bit more open here. I loved when he talked about the specific direction he received from Mr. Lee.
what a raw fireball ;) so much energy/spirit, hard to contain all that, stillness, stillness, just perfect...
It's aazing how much he can say about a character. It really shows how much thought he puts into it. And everthing he says sounds so poetic... or is that just his accent.
A brilliant young soul, forever beautiful. We were blessed, even for this short time.

he was adorable.
I like this interview because he seems unable to make eye contact... continuously looking down like he is thinking of something
he's as sweet like the candy bar with his name on it.
So sad. He was so talented, so amazing.
I'll miss him.

man..this sucks completely..why did he have to die??
what a beautiful and aware human being
Its cool how his accent was nit in dark knight. Perfect joker. Period.
For me, when I saw him in "The Lords of Dogtown", is when I knew he could act and was not just another pretty face.
i miss him =/
God..the number of times I watch his interviews...why isn't there any fan page for him on Instagram? Please tell me you haven't forgotten him.
I haven't forgotten him.
As great as Heath was as The Joker, he was equally great as Ennis Del Mar, the character that he's discussing here.
his voice is.....soothing
