The repo and site are no longer live-my apologies. I went through and purged my stale repos from my Github account.

Thanks you taught me (frightened sometimes by the amount i do not know) what LaTex and MathJax actually do

I know, I know... it's the Pythagorean Theorem, not the quadratic formula.

Anyone could make E = mc^2 that mistake.

Great video, but I just thought I'd point out KaTeX as well. It's a newer project created originally for Khan Academy, and it's essentially a MathJax alternative that is worlds faster than MathJax.

someone knows, how can LaTex stored in a mySQL database be represented/rendered into the webbrowser as mathematical formulas?

    • @christopherkapic
      @christopherkapic  2 года назад +2

You can probably store latex as a string/text and send the latex to the frontend, at which point MathJax can render it as an SVG.

On the MathJax site they say use $$ and $$ to open and close your math, that works perfectly and you don't have to add the code at the top.

how could MathJax be integrated into Python by using streamlit to display LaTex stored in a separate spreadsheet (e.g. Excel) as mathematical expressions in a web application?

Is it possible to manipulate the mathjax formula. Example i want the userinput to get inside the math equation.. how is it possible

    Kapic,
Thank you for the clear explanation. However, my problem is more complicated. During the pandemia, I wrote thousands of beamer viewgraphs on diff. Eq. Topology, etc.
Now my university asks to create eXeLearning materials. I want to go directly from LaTeX into eXeLearning. Is that possible?
BTW, I can't open the links you left in video description.
Anyway, your youtube is helpful. Thank you again.

Hi Erwin, I'm glad the video was helpful. Unfortunately, I have never done anything with exelearning and am unfamiliar with it. I hope you can get this sorted out!

Will double dollar sign work for single line latex ?

If I recall correctly, I think so. But I’ll double check when I get a chance and update this comment.

Can we use latex to create svg?

I’m pretty sure MathJax does that conversion. Not 100% sure though.

your site and github repo links are broken, have you given up on your open source project cos I would be interested on working on math websites for myself and for open source as well
