This is one of my favourite Massive Attack tracks, this video is so hard to watch. So much sadness and anger at once. I still fail to understand how we can be so cruel to other living beings, especially for entertainment.
That's because the bull is not seen as a living being. It's easier to kill if that's not living. But if you want to make people supporting this have like a bug then ask them : is it torture or tradition ?
It's like a metapher for borderline or a crisis. When you try everything to get along, but in the end you'll stay with nothing. All those emotions you go through during this devastating process are beautifully portrayed in a spanish bullfight. Allthough, the Bull has no chance, he tries to survive, because he must to. The only possibility for him is to try as hard as he can, even if he knows there is no exit. Anger frustration but also hope and believe you'll maybe get out and survive, all those feelings are coming together, when it's about your'e existence. The actual only real Chance you have though is, when someone else would actually care about you and choose to help. Not sure if the music tries to say that, though, just my own thoughts... .

Well if you "love" Massive Attack you should know better. So no, they are not promoting bull fights. In fact Massive Attack, they (particularly Del Naja) actually have a very strong stands about human right and are anti-establishment.

Although Heligoland as a whole is still growing on me, this particular track was an instant favourite of mine. Also features as the theme tune to the HBO show 'Luck'. Not often that HBO gets it wrong ;-) .
