@bendava04 that wasn't a big throw though? Dragon ascent wasn't going to kill. It did 69.7-82.2% dmg. Even if Vinny ran Ray adamant (which he didn't), it still only did a max of 90%

@@roberthaggerty8887 yeah which not only makes the scarf usually unesscessary in the first (though in this case it was hugefor outspeeding diancie) but the scarf makes protect and substitue functionally unpickable so his M gengar basically had only 2 moves XD

Vinny moves from D-Tier to C-Tier today ladies and gents. Mostly due to him doing a lot better, but still losing and for some reason putting protect and substitute on a choice scarfed Pokémon
aint no shot a C tier battler throws like that and puts protect and sub on a scarfed mega gengar, Vinny had a straight up unstoppable team and he found a way to screw it up. thats some F tier play right there.
A C tier battler to me is someone who does the bare minimum, makes no innovation and runs the good sets the way they are meant to be run but doesn't really use them with any skill or understanding.
Vinny is F to D tier, in that he sometimes runs trash sets and does trash things with said sets usually throwing or straight up cheating in the moves he gives mons, which is F tier behavior, or on better days which this was not, he can understand what movesets are good and what attacks are good to use, but falls flat on ever properly executing them, commonly making bad calls and actively throwing games he easily could have won had he simply not actively picked the worse possibly options.

Two things to help you next round: Protect while usually a good move, should never be used on a choice mon, Choice and assault vest are pure offense items. And 2: Don't let your excitement blind you like what happened here. Items as you can expect typically make or break a battle you wouldn't expect it but items are chosen for a specific purpose. It is why Switcheroo and Trick actually have some usage and why Knock Off is usually a must on certain mons (Such as Meowscarada or Krookodile, though I think Gen 9 Krookadile lost knock off which is stupid)
And just another bit of information, if you decide to use Smogon for team comp. Make sure you're not using Balanced Hackmons
