We own at boardwalk. You must have stayed in a room that hadn’t been renovated yet. All the issues you discussed with the carpet, couch, bed I think were solved by the renovation. We never had an issue with the hot water. All your other points seemed spot on. Great video!
Definitely try again with the updated rooms! We stayed in a renovated 1-bedroom and loved it! I’ve also gone to beach club to refill my mug at night because the beach club marketplace is open until 11pm.
Am I ever going to be staying at the Boardwalk? Probably not. Did I take meticulous notes through this whole video though anyway? Absolutely 😆 Thanks for all the great info!
I like the vibe of the Boardwalk and the hotel has an iconic smell. I’m a frequent traveler and I can tolerate a lot but no hot water is just about the only thing I’ll complain about. 🥶 Thanks for sharing your experience and about renting DVC points.
i can’t believe i forgot to mention the SMELL! the lobby smells absolutely amazing at this resort!! yes, no hot water was no fun & i couldn’t believe that happened to us at a deluxe resort!
Hi Katie, such a great video! I love all your Disney content and always love when you post. I know you mentioned not liking to complain, but I will say as someone who used to work in customer service that sharing a poor experience is never seen as complaining. Especially when you are just wanting to try and give feedback so others have a better experience. Next time definitely say something if you notice something is wrong or not up to par. The employees at the hotel don’t stay in the rooms and would rather you share your experience than not know something is wrong for future guests!
well thank you for watching, that means a lot!! I really appreciate that perspective - I honestly never thought of it like that. in the future definitely going to speak up, I spoke up (on this same trip actually) about our park tickets and they were able to help us out. was a great example of approaching something with kindness, not necessarily "complaining"! I have to remind myself of that sometimes!
I never stayed at Boardwalk Inn before. But I stayed at the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort Hotel back in August of 2022. I had several issues with my room. There was a lasting, gross-looking stain on the toilet...I called the front desk about the issue, and literally 10 minutes later, a maid came to look at the issue...She tried using cleaning solution and supplies she had to remove the gross stain, but was unable to...Then 10 minutes after that, a maintenance worker came...I think he ended up removing that entire part of the toilet and replacing it with a new part, I am not completely sure...But, it fixed the problem. The shower water was never warm, even when I turned the knob all-the-way to the warmest temperature setting. The sink water was "pooling"...I took out the stopper, and I found a huge amount of black-colored gunk stuck to the bottom tail of the stopper. They also screwed up on a large pizza that we ordered as a family. We order a pizza that was half pepperoni and half veggie. We ended up receiving a pizza that only had two slices that were veggie.
I’m planning a trip to Disney World for 2025 & can’t decide between Pop Century or Port Orleans - French Quarter. Would love your pros & cons/ review on those 😊
i will be doing some full resort reviews for both coming up!! but i think the biggest differences between the 2 resorts are: Pop is bigger, feels less “homey” but the theming is really in your face and fun, and the skyliner access is amazing! the bus lines tend to get pretty long and no shade while you wait. POFQ is so small and quaint, the theming is still fun/loud but less Disney in your face! you have the boat to disney springs but only buses to parks. the nice thing is the bus stop is tiny and only a few benches! and covered. so not as stressful when you do have to take the bus! Overall, Pop is cheaper and you get the skyliner, but if you want a little bit of a more relaxing experience with some elevated touches might be worth it to pay a little extra for POFQ if you’re willing to give up the skyliner or if you go to disney springs a lot! Hope that helps!! 💗
We love the boardwalk we stay almost every year we are dvc owners only thing we don’t like is that the soda machines are on the boardwalk but I guess it is what it is lol they should have put a soda machine in the little coffee shop!
that’s awesome to own dvc there!! yes we had the exact same thought!! just add one of those fancy drink machines that does all the different flavors somewhere inside! or even tucked into an ice room somewhere.
I’m a biggg boardwalk fan but I agree, food options aren’t great here :/ We always end up hopping to riviera or one of the parks to eat. Renovated rooms are really nice though so maybe try again in a year or so!
i’m glad we were not alone in not loving the food options, it’s so weird because there’s a lot of different places to eat, but feels like less options somehow! I think I will definitely be back someday & hopefully get one of those beautiful rooms! ✨
It’s important to note that you posted this video in July 2024 for a stay in September 2023. The construction is almost complete and the deluxe studio villas you stayed in have all since been updated. I think this is really relevant information that is being overlooked when giving a fair and accurate review.
that is true, sorry it was misleading - i did mention both of those things to try to give an accurate picture!! however, keep in mind just because a room is renovated doesn’t mean it’s perfect! my friend stayed there last week in the same room (renovated) and said the crack under the door was still a BIG issue! so just because the rooms are renovated doesn’t mean all of the issues i mentioned are gone!
This was so helpful because my husband and I just booked our boardwalk stay! Thanks for the tips!
i’m glad it was helpful!! i hope it got you excited for your stay! ✨🎠

We had the BEST stay at The Boardwalk in Jan 2024 and my dream is to own DVC points here.
it does feel like a very “homey” resort and i could see why owning DVC there would be so magical!! 🤞🏼 it happens for you soon!
