My criteria for buying items, both on neopets and in real life, is that if I'm still thinking of the item hours after I first saw it, then it means I actually want it and it's not just an impulse buy. If I have the money to buy it then, I do it - if not, I save up for it. It's a guaranteed way for me not to regret any purchases!
Amazing advice, I'll def be taking it all in mind! I'd also suggest the battledome, I fight the S750 Kreludan Defender Robot on medium difficulty until I hit the item limit every day. He drops both normal and red codestones and I make roughly 100k per session once it all sells, and codestones sell fast. I dont fully understand the BD, so I'm not even sure if you have to fight higher difficulties for more items or not. Easy gets you the same things. I dont have weapon suggestions, I just use the stuff I got from the wraith resurgence, but I *would* suggest giving your battle pet a Magical Healing Potion and using it every turn. On medium, using that and my Reflecting Vanities and Static Cling (lvl 1 bottled faeries ability) it all takes about ten minutes. If you get too low, pop by the healing springs + buy a potion there, they're very cheap. He also drops neocola tokens, which are something more worth using than selling since you have a chance at getting transmog potions and you almost always get some neopoints from using them. The pet I use isn't necessarily a BD pet, either. She's just an old lab rat that has ok-ish stats and high HP from being zapped.
And I wanna add: Neopets taught me that $100 isn't much at all when I was young and that stuck with me all through my childhood, I had such a good grasp on money values because of it.

But all of it would get spent on clothes or easy avatars (or wanting to treat a pet to kelp :b) I ended up getting lucky in 5th grade with a baby paintbrush from fruit machine (which I sold extremely low without checking!) and then I ended up with a pirate draik egg when the forgotten shore came out which is how I had any neopoints. I started the stock market when I first saw your video, and I recently started food club for the same reason! I'm still trying to save up enough for the best bank option and then I guess I'll figure out what my next goal will be! I've never completely lost interest in neopets, but you've definitely helped me find new ways to make myself excited again. :3

Maybe you could talk about which version of the game was the most popular (I think there were three versions of the first game, but then they added a fourth version, featuring the Dalmatian, later-I think the Dalmatian was always unlockable in the first three but this game featured it as a starting dog) and the concept of how you could unlock dogs but also buy the different versions to get them faster. Since you could buy different versions of almost the same game, it was kind of like Pokémon, but interactivity between players wasn’t as pushed, I don’t think. It obviously didn’t do as well as Pokémon despite the similar marketing of different versions of the game. I’d also like to learn what you think about the reward system in the game as well (finding objects, earning trophies, being able to buy new dogs, unlocking new dogs, etc.). I remember buying at least two versions of the game and wanting to collect them all, but as I actually played the game my interest dropped relatively quickly compared to that of other games. Also, since you had to wait to do certain tasks in the game (I think you could only walk your dog and enter it in contests a certain amount of times a day?) so you wouldn’t “beat” the game too quickly, I think it was an early version of how we play most app games on our phones today. But since it wasn’t updating constantly, like app games today, the player would eventually run out of content to unlock. You could also only own a few dogs, so if the player reached an “end game” state, they would have to keep doing the same repetitive tasks with the same fully trained dogs unless they eventually wanted to get rid of one and start over with another. It was an interesting game for its time and it’d like to see it compared to games of the past as well as with those that came after it. The franchise did get a “sequel” for the 3DS years later, but I don’t think Nintendo is thinking of making any more games after that. Like, with the Nintendogs’ concept, what else could they do without going too outside the box? Anyway, I just found your channel and like your thoughts on game design. I also like hearing about your personal play styles.
