Hey your sign is awesome, as for your question on what to do about the lip left from the margin where it won't cut. You use that part to layer your next section on so that your design matches up correctly. When you apply your transfer tape you leave a little extra over the lip to line up the next section. It makes lineing up the big designs a whole lot easier that way your won't have to go back and fix the oops areas.

This is exactly why I asked for a Cricut Maker for Christmas! I’m nervous to take on the huge sign, but I’m saving it for when my confidence gets there! Love the cinnamon hack! I put some on just some canned goods that were going in the trash with mod podge just to see if it really worked and gave that rusty look and now I use them as a vase and organizers on my shelves! I just learned that hack a few months ago! This was a great tutorial! I love my Cricut but It still intimidates me! I purchased a target dollar spot sign tonight and the employee said, you know you can make that with your Cricut Miss Lindsey😂. She’s exactly right, but the fact they know me and my hobby just made my day! Thanks for sharing! I’ll definitely get this done one day! I’m gaining confidence with my Iron on vinyl and canvases right now and I’ve purchased Cricut stencil vinyl to try to make signs using paint! Baby steps! I’m hoping by Christmas everyone will have a personalized gift made by me🥰

I usually make my signs the opposite of the way you did this one. I apply the negative part of the stencil to my wood and paint over that. Also I have never tried the cinnamon trick. • @kellykohli9318

That's because Cricut only takes a 24" large mat. (largest mat for this Explorer machine program.) So in order to make a huge wall hanging, she had to combine 4 ea to get the large size she wanted in width. So her wording was 24"H x 48"W (2' x 4') when she combined it together. It's a big learning curve, but once you do it a couple times it's SO rewarding to see your finished piece! 😊 Happy Cricut creating! ❤️

Natalee, you just answered my question on your latest post, but I wondered if you remember the font you used on your black/white Callahan family sign. Thanks!!

Just a tip! If you put a box on your canvas the same size as your sign, you can easily judge the size of your words! Just change your. i’d to a lighter color!

Luv this!! I gotta saw I want to get into signs and tried to recreate the round wood 4th of July but I actually changed the wording for an anniversary gift and I tried to stencil it and it was a hot mess!! 🤣🤣 so I just used permanent vinyl instead 🤣🙊

Wow your sign turned out beautifully. I was wondering how that cinnamon would look and it turns out it does look like rust. I've been looking at getting a Cricut but I keep talking myself out of it because it looks complicated. I have been purchasing decals from others when I should just by a Cricut and make them myself. I think I'll be getting it soon.

If you purchase vinyl details regularly I would highly recommend getting one yourself. It seems intimidating but once you get in there and start working with it. Watch a bunch of tutorials… You’ll be just fine! And you’ll find it will pay for itself overtime.

What a great project!! We are moving to Florida at the end of the month and I’m definitely not looking forward to the humidity. We live in GA so I know what it’s like but it’s definitely worse in Florida lol 😂 can’t wait to get there tho!! ❤️

True… The humidity is kind of bad this time of year but for the book of the year it’s fantastic place to live! Welcome to Florida!😃

Hi Natalie!! I learn so much from watching your channel. I’m now trying to attempt to make a sign similar to what you did in honor of my sister who recently passed BUT I’m having problems in the cricut design space. I have a canvas the size of 24x36. Whenever I try to make the sign everything is jumbled together…. It doesn’t look like your sign🙁 I think my problem is the weld and slice, I’m good with everything until I get to that part of watching your video. I just started using my cricut so I’m still learning everything. Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated!

How did you keep the vinyl stencil lifting after you placed the paint over it?

Love this idea! Can’t wait to make my own! How thin was the 24x48” board that you used?

Cinnamon is so great for rust! Your end cards are a bit distracting, kept covering your face but thumbs up. Came out beautiful! Tfs! 👍😍
