Crazy how different the tracks are back then until now. When was it that they started opening up the SX tracks to higher speeds? Maybe the arrival of the 4 strokes?
Love Larocco trashing Emig, "He kicks like a girl". LOL

Yes. It took me a while to figure it out, but basically, if you use a faster engine, the tracks get faster. Same with the outdoor nationals.

Larocco was so fast that year, faster than McGrath it looked. But his starts were so bad, like 15th place start every week

Another rider that was faster than McGrath was Ezra Lusk in 1998. But he just couldn't keep it on 2 wheels

I wish some of these older guys had the medical and physical training we use now mcgrath and many other previous champs could have had another 3-5 years

I thought Jeremy got the Name “Showtime “ from his Dad ? Jeremy showing off his BMX skills on the track ? Especially the 1 leg nac nac over the finish jump ??

I don't think Jermey developed the knack knack on a BMX bike, but he did bring it into SX/MX racing. I don't remember him being called "Showtime" until he won a 250 SX championship, but I could be wrong.

He was known as showtime since he was an amateur.
