@Iraqnid2088 It's pretty old, that type of sound was common those days. Even heavier bands didn't really have more punch. The kind of mixing and producing that you talk about came the years after. Unless you talk about their whole discography... I didn't bother yet to check out the later albums.

They were in the beginning of the rap/core movement (early 90's), so you have it reversed. Other bands seemed to have ripped them off from what I am reading. If they sound like anyone, it's Faith No More, and not enough bands sound lie Faith No More, so it's all good from where I am sitting.
Taboo of the black eyed peas was totally copying Zac Tell's style at one point... he had similar hair, a similar beard, rapped in a similar deep voice style... if anyone sees the black eyed peas vids between 2003 and 2006 they might notice it too
