The trigger wire for the backup camera uses the reverse lights power which is only hot when in reverse. Other wise, your camera is on all the time the ignition is on, whether your app is open or not. The camera turning on with the reverse lights should trigger the app to open on its own. Hope this helps. Btw, it’s usually a blue trigger wire on most head units. Also same color for amp ON trigger.
The dash illumination didn’t work on my 2007 Outback either. Easy fix. They forgot a wire in the jumper harness. The orange wire on the end is the light signal in the new plug to the factory radio, which comes from the purple/white dotted wire in the factory plug. Just jump the black/white dotted wire to the same empty terminal next to the orange wire.
Hello, is it possible to run this with an aftermarket pioneer radio hooked up? I want to be able to use both so that my radio controls the volume and i can still play cds.
It should be possible but you would need to modify the wiring harness that comes with the head unit. I saw someone else on RUclips that had a setup where his factory radio still worked and the android head unit was tapped into the aux port of the factory radio.
@@djust270 Yeah, that sounds about right. I'm not sure if will go on with my original plan using these android head units. Apparently they have a lot of glitches, and don't last. Some have malware installed on them too from China. How long did yours last or how did it perform?
@@b33fcake34 I'm still using it and it works fine. I didn't use my primary Google account with this so I'm not too worried about any malware, also I dont have it connected to any network. I just side loaded apps over USB.
Are you referring to this? avojdm.com/dual-zone-av-panel-set-h6217ag911/ If you used the radio I purchased, you would have a big hole where the factory radio would be, but technically I think it would work just fine.
@@djust270 I am referring to that. I'm going to 3d print a custom pocket to house a QI charger and my HAM radio, I really like the idea of the screen being up higher in these setups, but don't want the old stereo there too. Thank you for the 411 on your setup!!
@@robbsmith7376 Hey mate I figured this out. Key 1 and key 2 aren't the same as the 2 wires that come from the swc. You need a connects2 adaptor to convert the signal to the universal key 1 key 2. Hope this helps

The best way to hold it right! Is to install the brackets and zip tie the back!
Looks pretty sweet!
Hello.! Where I found a radio like this for my legacy 2006, any link? Ti.’s

The vents were actually pretty easy to make fit using a Dremel cut off disc and a few screws. I even got the veins to be somewhat functional.
Do you have a video or diagram for the fix
hey is there anyway you could post a tutorial
How did you get the bezel to mount on the bottom? im afraid the radio might fly out hitting a bump
Does this work with the Harman kardon sound system
Are you still able to use the stock radio for volume or do you have to use the buttons on the screen?
The stock radio is completely disabled once this is installed.
do you have a backup camera install video

What did you end up getting?
@@DougDimadome I changed my plans and i just went with a double din Kenwood radio.
Does this come for left hand drive too? I’m worried the right hand drive vent plate won’t fit my car.
Great video man! If i have the AVO JDM kit for the climate control, could I remove the factory stereo when using this unit??
