My father served aboard the USS Texas' sister ship - the USS New York (BB-34) - as a gunner's mate in World War I from 1917 - 1919. And, yes, the stories both ships could tell from service in two wars! Hope it survives long enough for me to take a tour after its repairs.
I wish ,but i know its impossible. But it would be awsome to restore her to front line shape, and use it as a working museum ship. Meaning that they would take her out under her own power periodically to sea huging the coastline. Maybe even sell passage on her like a authentic WW1 / WW2 type cruzz and possibly fire blanks from the big guns on the 4th of july! They could possibly generate a masaive income from that. But that would take a lot of money and is problematic and impossible! But how cool would that be to go on a real Battleship WW1 & WW2 type cruzz. ?! Just sayen😁
Actually the Mighty T is a super-dreadnought. The first-generation dreadnoughts (ex. HMS Dreadnought) we're armed with 12-inch guns. In 1911, dreadnoughts were outclassed by larger, better armed & armored, more powerful super-dreadnoughts. ps. The only pre-dreadnought that is still existing is Japan's former flagship Mikasa. She participated in the Battle of Tsushima in 1904.

I'd rather pay taxes to restore this beautiful ship than pay more taxes for all those new IRS agents.
She’s the few of her breed, a pre-dreadnaught battleship.
No. She’s the LAST of her breed, the only dreadnought left.
Pre dreadnaught? Really?
I believe she's actually the only remaining battleship of her period, but I think she's a post-Dreadnaught, not pre-.
@@absalomdraconis Yes it's post dreadnought. Even considered the more advanced super dreadnoaught.
