  • How's it going everyone! Here's a video on how I pull a proper evacuation on a Trane 4 ton heat pump split unit with a 50' line set using the Navac 2 cfm battery powered vacuum pump. This pump is great for most systems up to 5 tons. When using the right hose setup, evacuations take no time. I just love how small and portable this pump is. I highly recommend the Navac battery powered pump series. If you haven't already, go pick up an Accutools TruBlu vacuum hose kit and a Navac pump, you won't regret it.

    Hey Zack, just got my EPA and started with Lee Company in Nashville. Wow. Didn't realize the hours I'd be working. 60+ my first week! They don't teach you that in school. 😂
    Keep up the good work on the videos, and that's a crazy vacuum pump. Really saves time.

      hey william the epa is the only thing you need to get hired as a tech? (new to hvac)

    • @williamgraham5971
      @williamgraham5971 4 года назад

      @@charcoal1046 a lot of places will hire you without the EPA. It just helps to have it. Eventually you will need it regardless so you mine as well take the test. Get the app called EPA 608 on the play or Apple store. It's well worth it. It's $9.99 and the questions and answers on the app are word for word what is on the EPA test. I passed all 4 sections my first time.
      Also, start out doing install. You'll learn a lot.

    • @charcoal1046
      @charcoal1046 4 года назад

      William Graham thanks i got the app and its very easy to use and has a bit of different questions than the epatest.com video from youtube also im taking epa 608 in college rn and i take epa test on august 13 im excited to start working but also nervous that ill fail the test haha

    • @williamgraham5971
      @williamgraham5971 4 года назад

      @@charcoal1046 it's just memorization. It's not timed or anything. You need to pass only 75%. Mainly focus on the core section.
      If you pass the core, pass type I, and fail II & III, then you are type I certified.
      If you fail the core, and fail type I, II, & III, then you aren't certified.
      What I'm saying is core is important. But it's an easy test. Just memorization.
      & Install sucks to start out in, but it's not hard. It's just hot. But it will make you a better service tech to do install.
      Plus learning install gives you the knowledge to do side work on the weekends. That's where the money is at. There's some service techs that can't install, so they can't do the side work.
      Hours are better in install too. You'll get off at 4 or 5 o'clock in the afternoon. In service you work till 10-11 at night sometimes.

    So no need to remove the micron gauge before you weigh in the system charge? I thought refrigerant can have an adverse affect on a vacuum gauge if exposed to high pressure? You're BlueVac Peofessional Micron Gauge is good with no issues? Thanks Zac!!!

    • @arodandjeter1
      @arodandjeter1 3 года назад

      You need another core removal tool where the micron gauge goes. If you don't use one, like you were saying. Oil or refrigerant can mess with your readings or damage the gauge if it gets inside the gauge. If you take the gauge off the unit before releasing or weighing in charge then your core depressor pushes back on the valve core which let's some of your vaccum out.

    • @cleansebob1
      @cleansebob1 3 года назад

      No need to remove micron gauge. BluVac is designed to take the pressure. What WILL happen is you'll get some oil on the sensor, and so you'll need to clean it with alcohol before using it again, but no big deal.
