the whole thing is a one block error. he's one block higher than the previous section because he cloned the foundation over by mistake pause and count the 2x2 tower from this video and the previous video of the 2x2 tower. thats why the slabs dont line up

For those lost: episode 4 right around 14:30 is where the section he throws back to is and it goes into episode 5. Just look for when he starts on the 2 x 2 chimney

I was searching RUclips and one of the other how to build hogwarts series and it got discontinued so thank you so much for taking the time to actually do this series and hopefully do it to the end so keep on doing what you are doing thank you

im loving this build, the downloadable layout differs a bit in some areas from the tutorial videos though, i thought id have a big brain moment and build the full foundation layout before the tutorial started so everything would go quicker, but yah haha but as said, no biggy, its easy enough to resize the foundations as you follow along anyways :) doing this on my smp server as a surprise for a friend whom cant play Hogwarts legacy, so thought id give her the next best thing. let her explore Hogwarts in minecraft instead :) and yes i did put myself into creative mode to save what little sanity i still posses haha , thank you for making these tutorials, freaking legend :)

tips for placing stairs. place blocks under first and then stairs on top. remove the blocks and your done:) its much quicker:)

Hey Drag, really enjoying your vids! I see you were using some worldedit commands like stack. You can also use that on your roof stairs instead of cloning, much faster.
Yes I know that, but I'm mainly making this tutorial for players who don't have world edit :D

Do you know if there is any command to raise the castle? I did the construction on the ground at the beginning because I thought it would be a lot of work to make that mountain, but now I feel like doing lol. Hi from Brazil!
I’m at 4:14 and I have all the measurements lined up but the sandstone slabs don’t Mach up
I had the same thing. But dragonod placed an extra layer of foundations so everything is 1 block higher. Im not changing it now,it’s too late for that

you can use ctrl+a+c (press the ctrl all the time until you press the a+c then unpress all of them at the same time then press esc go to next part press ctrl+v)

I absolutely love these videos! but this episode has been the hardest for me--The clone command doesn't work for me-- it should, but every time I do it, it puts my clone in the exact opposite direction than I want it. So I had to rebuild those walls from memory, and I had to struggle through the roof. I wish the cloning explanation was slower! I have tried dozens of times and just keep messing it up :(

i've been trying to find this one mistake all day i noticed when building the end of that lower courtyard roof into the tower built in the start of the video that i'm pretty sure you built it a block too tall, as you have an extra layer at the bottom
but i'm not sure if that's intentional or not
i think i noticed the same thing?

@@jamesbutler3303 i ended up keeping it only two blocks up whereas his is three but only on that one tower, his previous ones are two as well

And the Interior?
I'll only be showing the important interior locations, common rooms, main class rooms, great hall, and some video game locations which I deem important etc. As for other areas it's for you guys to make up since there is no official floor guide and so if I show it, I'll just be showing how I've made up mine. And I like to inspire creativity and I like the idea of everyone making their own corridors and linking each area together in how _they_ feel it should be. Inspiring the use of imagination and creating multiple unique Hogwartses based on their _perception_ of what they believe it should be like. I'll be showing some corridor ideas and templates which can be used around the castle. I hope this will inspire and spark imagination for people to create their own unique Hogwarts story.

Hi drag, I’ve probably made a mistake but...is the section we build at the start one block taller than the section when we were building the Durham section?
It shouldn't be. If I made a mistake in the video then that's my bad. Don't worry about it too much, the walls will just connect to it regardless 😊
