Teams can Trade two years of future picks and Three years of picks once the draft starts.. I don't suggest that all the time, but when you have a Draft this deep I absolutely would and just like the salary Cap you can kick the can down the road.. meaning if you trade away the next two years entire draft you can still go into next year with access to 2027 draft picks plus 2028 once the draft starts.. and you just keep doing that as long as you want. Besides the compensatory picks, you would never be without picks.
But with this particular draft and having a top 10 Roster I would absolutely get 6 picks in the Second round and fix the OLINE for the future and the more you do it the more salary Cap it opens up for FAs to fill in any other needs because the picks are cheaper, younger and signed.
I personally would rather have 4 2nd Round picks every year rather than 7 picks 1-7.
Because again if your roster is cheap you can get FAs.

This team cannot afford to take “medical issues” or “developmental” players in the 1st 3 rounds. They just can’t. The first and second round picks will have to play this next season. You cannot lose 10 starters/backups, not replace them and field a full team

B, When you mock a draft, it's not necessarily who you would take. It's who you think they will take. Once you get past the 2nd round, it's hard to predict who will be there and who won't.
If you had not gone Jonathan Brooks (or Payton Wilson) I might have gone a solid B+. But I'll give it a B- because I like the 1st pick.
B- for me on this mock draft. I like the Barton pickup but I dont like the Brooks pickup in round 2.

Patrick Paul is terrible. Did you see the Senior Bowl? Dude literally lost every single rep. It was unbelievably bad. Voch Lombardi broke it down in detail if you dont believe me.
They may have a little interest in J Brooks but who wants a gimpy play out of the Draft? I'd rather pick Trey Benson or Jaylen Wright as a RB.

Could Suamataia fall to 56? Would the cowboys double dip on Oline if they already selected Barton or JPJ in the 1rst? I feel like they left too many holes on this roster to do that.

The only way to really fill all the needs and have an o-line full of capable starters is by moving Tyler Smith out to left tackle, drafting an interior o-lineman, and starting Bass or Hoffman in whichever slot is left open.

In the third round, they are better off taking either a defensive tackle.Or another offensive lineman. Otherwise, take best player available.Because stretching for a linebacker that needs development might not be the answer
I would be so happy with Barton!! I truly think he can be our next Travis Frederick if they plug him at Center.
I look for them to draft a Dt in round 3 . We need to stop the run . We got decent lb and a great secondary and a good pass rush . Jury is still out on Mazi
as far as DLs I like T'vondre Sweat and Jaden Crumedy and at Edge Austin Booker or Javon Solomon.

I would target either G.Barton from Duke because of his position flexibility or the Center from Oregon. They can get a Tackle later, they don’t have to take one in the first “unless” a top one falls to them, which I doubt.

Barton it is said will be picked by Steelers at 20.if thid is the targeted player, not there trade down and get more picks. JPJ Available at 24 means his medical is worse than we know. I would go best receiver Available. WR is 2nd most important position after QB. Some drafts have Dallas taking Worthy of Texas at 24. 4.2 speed does not grow on trees. Him and CD.Lamb sounds very good to me. No RB. As 1st pick there are prospects in 3rd and 4th round and if Chiefs Can find a Gem at 7th we can also. However best Scenario if Barton goes before 24th is trade down and get more picks. But because Offense due to rule chances is making offense more IMPORTANT than defense. We should concentrate in finding 3 potential starters in OLine or at least 2 and one that can start next year. Guyton, Sumatotia. COOPER BEBEE, ZACK FRAZIER WITH 2ND 3RD. 5TH SOUND REAL GOOD TO ME. In my opinion they are a little better at disguising their picks. Last year everyone in the world was sure they were going to take Dalton Kincaid or Michael Mayer and they were debating between A Dt and a guard.
No one thought they would even sniff Dalton Kincaid but Mayer was a big question. We never drafted a guard last year so I don’t feel like it was of importance to them.

Why are we pushing the narrative of the Jalen Brooks pick who only played one year as a starter and is injured. It’s not like he is a generational talent. Trey Benson should be the pick if we draft RB in the 2nd round. If RB is devalued why pick an injured running back. Make it make sense.
Exactly ... I wouldn't touch Brooks with a 10 foot pole and he was not the best RB when he was healthy.. So much insane Longhorn crap.. thinly veiled.. Next year that group will want us to take the QB Ewers .. it's really bad form.

Because Dallas has so many needs, they should just take the BPA regardless of position. No matter who they pick tonight and over the second and third days, they aren't making the Super Bowl and possibly not even the playoffs.
In round 1, if all of the o-line guys are gone, I heard the cowboys will take Brian Thomas Jr to pair with lamb!

Barton with his arm length and strength concerns I don’t like him at Guard or Center, it’s plenty of Tackles to get and better center options
If there's a big run on all offensive lineman I would definitely trade back. I necessarily don't mean getting completely out of the first round just trading back a few spots.

We at least need Guyton, Barton, JPJ, Morgan, Frazier to all be there at 24 and hope KC wants to move up and if so you net you a late 3rd and a 5th in return for 24 and us dropping to 32 and if JPJ or Barton are there or not them you go Frazier and you run that card in. Then try to land you a later round Gem/steal in Christian Jones the LT out of Texas. He went against elite comp off the edges the last couple of years. Dallas Turner, Chris Braswell, Will Anderson, Will Mcdonald etc... kicked all their asses too. You just solidified 3/5 of your OL for the next Decade+. Jones, Smith, Barton/JPJ/Frazier, Martin, Steel/Richards. We will be a top 5 OL again. Unless LB Copper or Wilson are there at 56 you go Franchise RB in the 2nd either Benson or Brooks or Wright or Allen in 3rd. #2 Rec in 2nd or 3rd round Legette, Corley Coleman, Polk, Worthy, Mcmillian, Tez Walker. Use that extra late 3rd you got with the trade down to go get you a DT to replace Hankins departure. Then fill the rest of our LB, CB, DL, OL depth with later picks.

Did you not watch how terrible LB play was the downfall of the defense? Chiefs, Ravens, 49ers...all great LB play. Not sure where you came up with that opinion but it couldn't be further from the truth.
@timdarnell7819 Defenses are in the nickel 75% of the time and Kendrick is the middle and you have Overshown last year 3rd round pick and Clark will go back to his position. cowboys have to many holes on the roster to draft some one who might ride the bench Cowboys need defensive tackle more than linebacker
I don't know much about Barton I'll watch every highlight if the boys take him but I like guyton and powers Johnson I think they are safer but if chop is there I'm taking him because I'm betting Lawrence is gone next year in free agency he's very good I don't love him as are second best d player so chop Brooks id be happy if Paul is there in the 3rd but I don't think he will be id love to get Watson late he played in a big time conference in the sec West had 10 sacks is a thumper if we get Barton I can't give it a a cause I know nothing about him I'm big on bringing coker 7th rd or post draft he could be what we need he is not only fast but he has hands
