The CPU doesn't have any 3.3V power rail as far as I know. It has 1.0, 1.1, 1.3, 1.5 and 1.8 domains. RAM has 2.5V. Can't see P13USB power rail shared with CPU nor it being a CPU issue. Likely one of the main other minor regulators on back side or WiFi. Not had this issue myself yet but I'd just prove it and remove CPU see if short goes or use thermal to see short
Hi Chad, even if you don't speak french, you should throw an eye on the last video from Deus ex silicium about the last switch oled. You might grab something for your skills.
To be honest I find it difficult to watch videos where I can't understand what's being said, even with subtitles because it drags my attention away from the subject
Great video mate. A quick question about the switch lite, not charging please...a short on BQ24193 and MAX77620H, would it be down to the MAX ic or both? Also a short on MAX77812, is that linked to power/charging circuit? Many thanks, keep up the good work 👍
I've seen a completely mangled charge port before, it was from a child forcing in a micro USB charger cable in an effort to charge the switch. I assume they managed to get the entire micro cable end up beside centre blade of the C port on both sides multiple times going by the devastation I saw. Attempting to dock charge the unit blew something int he dock and then a 2nd dock as well before realising the USB port was spaghetti. That was an expensive day for the parents.
Ouch, yeah sounds like it might get costly there. I've seen it a few times to be honest because of incorrect cables being plugged in, it never ends well
@@TheCod3r I've got an owon with a nice display and probemaster cables I'd send ya if you were on the same continent as me haha. Sorry about the patreon brother. The wife made me cull the accounts and I've been a channel member since almost day one so I figured I'd stay here. My patreon was over 120 dollars a month haha. It's a bt35+ with probemaster silicone leads with the needle probes that retract when you press them into a component so you get a better connection and save the tips. I'd go splits on the shipping if it's worth it to ya. I live in nova Scotia. Later bro
I know it would be a MASSIVE amount of work since it's BGA, but theoretically what would happen if you swapped a known good CPU from another board that had some other unfixable issue?
Not possible unfortunately, APU is married to the NAND, so as long as it isn't an exploitable Switch and you happen to have a full NAND-Backup, all work would be for nothing
I made a mistake with my nintendo controller pro using a low end USB-C, it melted it, though the controller still works, the controller's charging port seems to be burned a bit and the plastic around it melted. Any thoughts of that for self repair? Should I just clean it with 99% alcohol and give a chance? - Subscribe, thanks for the video! I have learned alot!
Where abouts are you from I Need my xbox one hdmi port replacing its the original xbox one did have the one s but that died after a year aswell turned it off wouldn't turn on again
@@TheCod3r not a snide comment just a constructive comment! You obviously very talented at what you do! Just saying that you are working in filthy conditions
phil any ideas on this issue, have a ps4 sac-001 when i press power it beeps, fan spins, blue light flashes and turns back off again, getting voltage at the power supply connector and the 12v input
Please clean at least one of your screens it’s giving me horrible OCD problems and I don’t have OCD. Barely can read the results on the multimeter it’s so greasy 😂

I'm going to do This method. On my next usb-c port repair.
Great video dude! You deserve the best! Love to watch your videos!
Thanks very much mate

Nice try, Phil! And I like the knowledge that you pass us. Thanks, man!
Another great video phill, have question about checking cpu for short over the cap, could the cap ever be at faulty ?
It's possible mate but I've never come across a bad cap there myself
Think you need some cleaning tools at filthy can’t hardly see you meter screen
Meh
Great video mate thank you for the info 👍🏻

It's hard to say really because I see it with both BQ and MAX being bad, as well as the caps around BQ are known to fail too

Clever guy, pretty cool to watch 👌
Thanks mate
Give yourself a new dmm Phil haha. Great video.

to be complete, iAPU is also married to anti-piracy-ic afaik
Yeah you'd have to swap the cpu along with the nand and the anti piracy ic, but it is possible. It's not worth it from a customer perspective though
Cod3r do you use an Atten machine how much C° and airflow do you use for change that port?
It is piety for the customer it is dead cpu. Great video. is the cpu dead through a bad port?
Yeah very likely mate
Holy shit you cleaned everything
Haha nah, old video

Great vid
do you know any Aussie repair technicians doing console repairs who would give any repair a try or a look at the repair at least
Give Paul Daniels a shout mate. He works on macbooks mainly but I did ask him the other day and he said he would be willing to give them a go
I couldn't see you're meter readings because of the filthy conditions you. Are working in
Filthy conditions? I'm not going to clean my multimeter screen every time I use it just for the sake of a few snide comments
@@TheCod3r not a snide comment just a constructive comment! You obviously very talented at what you do! Just saying that you are working in filthy conditions
Slap me if you want, didn't see any lifted, would deoxit work?
I'm not sure what I'd use deoxit for in this situation to be honest
Did you hand re-ball that APU from last stream?
No mate not yet, I'm waiting on some solder balls
What happens with no-fix boards like this? Do you buy them for donor parts from the customer?
I used to, but nowadays I just have too many boards to justify spending more money so they just go back to the customer
phil any ideas on this issue, have a ps4 sac-001 when i press power it beeps, fan spins, blue light flashes and turns back off again, getting voltage at the power supply connector and the 12v input
It sounds like an APU fault with the solder balls to be honest mate, but it could still be PSU related
Call him Dr Feel Good
How much would you charge for an Xbox 360 repair of the red light
They aren't worth fixing any more unfortunately. I've never offered 360 repair services. Sorry

Is this nintendo switch totally dead or does it only work in handheld mode? Sorry but my English is not very good.
It's totally dead

haha yeah gotta love newer Samsungs, charges in 55m from 0%
Bummer 1 more for Ebay 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆
