I'm a Buckeye fan. I have never seen this channel before. We have so many pro-Buckeye channels..... Anyway, this is the best. Cole may be an Auburn dude, but I wish he had an Ohio State Football show. Good stuff.
@@SteveAllen-x2m I was pointing out that I like the way that he presents his views. Take it any way you wish. One thing is for sure, though. If Cole had a Buckeyes show, he'd be making more money. SEC country? Whatever. I live in SEC country. Go, Buckeyes! OH!
Great show. Small suggestion - might be an idea to get your full name into the channel's name or video title, oddly it doesn't show up when I search for "Cole Cubelic" on Google. Found this via Twitter. Glad I did. Great breakdown! I like your ND TEs angle. Evans is great and not used a lot this term. If OSU start like they did against Oregon or Tennessee then I think OSU win and probably do so easily. The headlines would be about a banged up Notre Dame running out of gas, why did we ever doubt OSU etc. However, if ND can keep it close through the first quarter maybe up to the 20min mark then I'd lean ND. If this is anything like the OSU regular season Oregon game, Penn State, Michigan, Nebraska or Texas games then Notre Dame can win it. Nobody is coming back against this OSU team from 14+ down. But equally ND has an ability to grind anyone down, they just need to hang in there early. Cannot wait!
I don't have a dog in the fight as a Gamecock fan. But I don't like OSU way more than I don't like ND. Clearly OSU has the roster talent advantage by a mile, but I really like the gutsiness of ND in their last few critical games - they have been tough as nails. I think the game will be determined in the first 1 1/2 quarters. If ND can stop OSU on their first few drives, get a score or two, and not let the Buckeyes get off to a fast start, then I think ND can win. More than anything I just want to see a really competitive game that does college football justice as the best, most fun to watch game out there...
@@SteveAllen-x2mLOL! These are two of the BIGGEST fan bases in college football. This may set the record for viewers all time in the CFP finals. Just because you aren’t interested in these two teams doesn’t mean others (a lot) aren’t.
FWIW, days biggest downfall as a playcaller by a country mile is that you simply can bait him into running because of the numbers and he will do it repeatedly. Tons of examples of this. Sometimes it doesn't work, like northwestern vs trey sermon a few years ago. But this is BY FAR the best way to pay ohio state. Klatt actually said a few days ago on on3 that he got in a heated argument with a osu staffer basically telling them you guys should throw on light box looks way more than you do bc the other team still can't cover you. This is basically always the case but they just do it anyways.
This is a load of bullshit and Joel Klatt isn’t the end all be all. Also Day doesn’t call the plays. He might be involved in some plays but Chip Kelly is the play caller.
Day's problem (and Lincoln Riley's) is not being as aggressive as possible with 5 star skill talent. When the defense is in quarters, don't take what the defense gives you underneath, try and hit Mills or double move on a safety. Don't try for 10+ play drives with ball control, try to score in 6 plays or less. When you play OSU or USC, opposing coaches should always be thinking about how they have to score 40+ to win the game
@bootzilla1550 day called the plays for 6 years. He's still heavily involved, it's just not his sole duty. Listen to the press conference after the Cotton Bowl. Did chip Kelly call a screen or did chip Kelly ask ryan if they should run a screen? Ryan makes a lot of the playcalling decisions, he's just not actually like going through the playbook and designing the whole drive. Kelly does that and then is talking to day about what he wants to do. Kelly also is days football mentor wouldn't be surprised if Kelly has the same bad tendency as day. Day is like his nephew. They've talked ball together for the last 25 years. You don't think they influence each other? What exactly here is bullshit? Where did I rely on Joel klatt for anything? I just said he did say he argued with a staffer about their playcalling and how they should throw into run looks more often, which i agree entirely with. No one likes to see osu run more than the other teams DC. Not that they will stop them, but it's just way more likely you hold them to 24 if they're running power on every 1st and 10 than if they're taking 15 downfield shots to jj. Some of those shots are GOING TO WORK. Just do it more
This notion that ND is better equipped to handle a close game late is silly. They’ve had 3 close games all year, won at A&M, lost to NIU and beat PSU. Ohio State is none of those teams. Ohio State has been more batte tested in tight 4th quarter games than ND.
My take is that you really want Notre Dame to win. I remember the line of scrimmage predictions you and McElroy had before the first playoff game and yall had that in favor of Tennessee vs Georgia .. Ohio St is that team and your just a hater and Auburn Sucks. College Football is played outside of the sec and deserves their respect too. Don't forget this shit has cycles. Saban made the whole SEC better. He's retired now so what u gonna do now
I'm an OSU fan and the SEC is the best conference as a whole, and it will remain that way until other schools invest as much into their program as SEC teams do. In college basketball, the SEC has drastically improved after massive investment into their programs, this holds true for every single college sport. Nobody in the B10 has really improved as a program, it's just the top of the SEC has dropped a level because of the portal.

It’s not the amount of runs it’s the timing of the run you have to run on downs that they don’t expect you to run instead of running on first down

ND by 7
OSU 34 ND 15

Buckeyes win by double digits. Which is good for ND, because it won't be a triple digit disparity.
