Hardsellers are usually a lot more cunning and deceptive. They trick their customers to suppress their agony and delude themselves that they are genuinely interested, so they don't realize that the salesman is controlling them.
He was asked why he was so passionate about it and instead of saying something passionate about the product, he bragged about how he was a good salesman. He talked about other products he sold, not even related to this one. And like what Robert said, his job was to make the sharks share the passion. But they can't because the dude's not passionate about it, just the sales.

As far as using on broken skin, that kind of seems like a no brainer too. The product seems to promise increased energy, but doesn't offer any medical benefit or treat a condition. These actually seemed like very common claims to me.
This is one of those pitches they bring in for the sheer entertainment value. No Shark is going to invest .But it's funny to watch the pitchers get destroyed.

I dealt with a rapid fire sales guy once - I couldn't get a word or question in so I walked out of the room. He saw me leave but kept talking as if I was going to come back. As I walked down the hall and rounded the corner away from the meeting room he was just talking louder. Guess his sales training taught him to complete his pitch. The boss was "who is that guy in the meeting room screaming to himself".
I work in sales, telling is not selling! He would be great and door-to-door expensive vacuum sales to unwitting residents, who would buy just if he would leave their front porch.

He was saying that technique TDCS or whatever it was called, was used for those patients, however his product was not meant to do that. Basically he's riding the science of another treatment/technique and connecting it to his product. It's like those weight loss products that vibrate and say they can stimulate the fat so it melts off your belly. It's all a scam.

-Had a neurosurgeon or neuroscientist there to support their claims and the benefits of the product
-passed out the published studies and their OWN studies on how and why it works
-focused on all things science and leave the hyperbole out.
-not sell himself, but instead sell THE PRODUCT.

Technically you mean a "Neurologist (MD/DO) or a Neuroscientist (PhD)" as they actually study how the brain functions and do tests rather than a Neurosurgeon (MD/DO) that mainly focuses on the anatomy and physical operative treatments, BUT that's not important and I get what you're saying. The guy is just realllllly annoying and stuck up lmao and couldn't find any credible proof to back himself up overall just really bad execution.
If they were capable of doing those first three things they would have. They didn't choose to come into the Shark Tank unprepared, they couldn't back up their claims so he tried to sell himself in hopes they would at the least see it as a potential money maker without any actual benefits.

I couldn't believe the amount of people that believed copper coated magnets placed on the temples worked to do all sorts of miracle things.
The same with copper bracelets and crystals. It was crazy.
There are still so many people that believe this "miracle device" will take care of their problems that I'm sure this company is successful. Doesn't mean anything from them worked.
I mean, electron bracelets are a successful brand. Magical gems are a successful brand. People are dumb and guys this snake oil salesman prey on that to make money
