Your videos are surprisingly well made for the amount of subs you have. Great work Rachel, thank you for this video, helped me a lot

WOW, when I scrolled down to like this video, I saw you have less than 200 subscribers... WHAT !! 😮. I thought you should have 10s of thousands of subscribers if not 100s of thousands.
This video is very informative. Keep making videos like this, and soon you'll have thousands of subscribers. 😊

Yep, it's like an OCD addiction not to build notes while reading. I wound up getting an Onyx Boox reader, highlighting notes and after your done apps will gather all highlighted notes for exporting, expediates the ocd note taking powers.
    Great vid!

I can't wait for more videos from you! They are so quick, effective, and beautiful! So, I do turn every thought I had while reading into its own permanent note. But I'm a PhD student in the arts and EVERYTHING I read might end up in a paper I write one day. So, doing that time-consuming work is useful to me.

Man that's a lot of work! Props to you though! I'm sure it makes the eventual paper writing a lot easier!

    Hi Rachel!
What I do is to write a "1 page summary" where I do something similar to you.
I also write other notes with little chapter summaries. In those notes, I put the highlights of each chapter and two or three actions I would like to do in order to take advantage of what I learnt from those chapters.
The "1-page-summary" has the links to the chapter summaries. Until now, that way has been working well to me.
Great video and great content! I've started to follow you. Thanks for share with all of us!🙏

Great idea! I do something similar when I find that certain sections are especially valuable, like what I did with the Management page.
      Thanks for following!

Thank you so much for creating a video that details a simple, clean way of taking notes from books that are read and how to apply them. So many videos feel so extra and include things that make things clunky. I watched your video where you were talking about why Obsidian rather than Notion and I agreed with a lot with your points. Really, I need a note-taking system, not an entire productivity system. Anyway, thank you for a clear cut video

I'm glad you liked it! I hope this helps you build your own note-taking system!

I don't know if you already know, but there is a great app called Readwise. Whatever passages you highlight on the Kindle Ebook, it exports and writes to your Notion workspace !

Thanks for the tip! But I don't use a kindle and I prefer to reread my highlights and type my own understanding of it

@@RachelVMadrigal Okay ! You don't need a kindle to read kingle books. You can use the Kindle app on your computer, phone or tablet of choice ! Readwise is a really useful integration. They have an Obsidian plugin too. So all your highlights get stored in Obsidian !

Great video Rachel! I've been trying to come up with a way of making my own literature notes from Kindle books so this is really helpful! I'm still trying to decide what gets turned into a permanent note!

Very informative video Rachel! I love how clear you made it not to have a rigorous notetaking process while reading. I was looking for your blog after hearing you mention it in the video but couldn't find it in the description anywhere. Could you link it?

Punchy and succinct info on note making and using Obsidian, loved it. But, wow, the cat in the background! It's amazing, what kind is it? I couldn't take my eyes of it!

4:40 - Do you use the Highlightr plugin for highlighting? How do you just change the color of the text (e.g., for "Management") without highlighting?
    Thank you!

Could you change your video language to English? The auto captions are trying to listen to your voice as Vietnamese, and they're super messy.
