Thanks. I will have to check out your September Update later today. I'm a little behind on my RUclips watching, been exceptionally busy recently. The CMX is well worth checking out, I've got a little 3D printing project coming up that makes the CMX a little more interesting, so stay tuned for that! :)

oorail.com yeah I’ll keep an eye out for your next video. I managed to pick up a dapol track cleaner super cheap however I’m having problems with getting it working with my dcc layout.

you can never go wrong with the investment of a one or two cmx, and a one or two center line cars. yes they co$t. but worth it
and then a number of masonite dragger, 40 footers running around. dirt cheap to build.

Check out Joe Fugate's Publisher's Musings in the May 2019 model railroad hobbyist on track cleaning talking about polar vs non-polar chemicals for track cleaning if you look at the list you would not use IPA you would be using something like electric contact cleaner. JF explains why, at our club we have moved to WD 40 electric contact cleaner not the standard WD 40 here in the UK we can only get this on the internet very good results so far. Joe's work on this is the most thought through information on track cleaning we have come across. Neil

i use a funnel from a arts and craft store here in the USA. two pack set of them for under $2USD + tax. they are clear plastic. (at least for now).
and i use, clear gas, kerosene, coleman fuel, about the same product just sold under a number of names.
one wet cmx then two dry center line, then one wet cmx and two dry center line, followed by a number (as i feel like it 2-4) clean masonite draggers. all this is for dirty track.
but once clean it stays that way very good but i clean at least every six months, so no issues. and run a number of masonite draggers in the trains as they just fit not planed. ( i have a bunch of 40 footers, just used as normal rolling stock with the masonite boards).
wheels get a off track cleaning as needed. but clean track = clean wheels. (yes metal wheels).
i am now retired and home a lot. so track should stay cleaner longer.

Hi, just thought I'd copy my reply to the broken video here in case it's of use to anyone:
When using Oxiclean, if you mean the powdered version it actually works best at around 70C [ 160F ] and not boiling.
Thanks for the info on the Gaugemaster track rubber too as I was about to buy one.
    Cheers

Thanks Gerry. I was very surprised at how poor the Gaugemaster track rubber really was. I even bought a second one a few months later to make sure I hadn't got a bad one. Alas no. So far, the Peco one has been really superior, I've stocked up, have about six of the peco ones I think :)

Have you got the Amazon code for that yard of material please? Thank you.

The charcoal gray material listed here -> www.amazon.co.uk/shop/oorail.com?listId=18YMQIC4I9KQN is a good heavy weight fabric and is very close to the one I showed on the video. Its also cheaper via that link that most local fabric stores. Amazon I think its 7 quid, some fabric stores in the UK its around 11 or 12. You don't need much of it, about 1m will last you a long time! :)

If you want one with the exact Chevron pattern, you will most likely need to order it from the USA, here is one option, it doesn't look like its available in any colour other than blue anymore ... www.joann.com/upholstery-fabric-waverly-sublime-azure/12799300.html

I got the material and it is identical to the CMX in all but colour, even slightly ribbed, so thank you for that. It came as a 1Mtr square and was £1 cheaper than the paltry amount of CMX stuff so I have enough for a lifetime here, thank you!!

To much talking about nothing could have gotten to the the point and make better with less, but still informative, just took to long to get there.
