Paying for petrol is extremely simple, even with card at pay-at-pump, it works with any amount of money over £1 in the account, however EV charging normally requires an app or a membership card, if the charger takes contactless, it often only works if you have over £40 to pre-authorise, money that can take days to go back into the account. EV charge points need to adopt the technology that pay-at-pump uses, which would be a total win for everyone.
