- It's finally time to leave! It was a bitter sweet departure, but I know there is a long road ahead with plenty of opportunity, challenges, and adventures. We are always looking to level up as a family and this move is a positive for us, an upgrade in many areas. We hit all the usual stops in Arizona, New Mexico, a stop at Big Texan in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and finally Tennessee.....Home Sweet Home.

Born and raised here in Tennessee. Cherokee. Welcome to you and all you family. May God Bless
Appreciate that, thanks!!!
I love how you have such a close family. You all moved together😢. Beautiful.
Welcome to Tennessee I was Maryland born and raised only a few tips here:
You are the one with the accent
Always respect those who are born and raised here in Tennessee
Know and abide Tennessee laws
And when in doubt don't say or do anything that will cause conflict in your neighborhood you are moving to.
Pretty simple there. Have a ex in TN that I’ve been off and on with for 6 years who lives in TN. Looking forward to visiting there as I’ve had my fill of Cali
You hit it straight on! Didn’t like the comment ….. we fit in Tennessee with Claimant remark! When u staart hearing Hillbilly accents u an your family will make fun … just like u did in reference to Be verily Hillbillies!
I live in San Jose California back in the 70s but I was from Tennessee and I came back home and I'm so grateful I did...
Good luck guys!! Let us know how it goes in Tennessee. Planning to move to Kentucky /Tennessee boarder area in a year to live off the grid or homestead. Tired of California. It’s a sick place. God bless you all.
When you're ready to make the switch, let us know how we can help or what questions we can answer!
Stop your complaining and just leave my guy . Simple . You guys complicate your lives too much. 🤨
Made that drive a few times. Born and raised in CA. Left CA in 2014 for GA. Best move I made. Escaping CA!! Drained CA of a few more fighting republicans.
We cruised down to Georgia a couple weeks ago, love the areas we passed through!
Born and Raised n Ga, been all over the world, but I'm glad to be home, if we can get rid of the liberals and illegals, it'd be just like home again. 🇺🇲🇺🇲
We’re in the same boat, we have tried to stay and be another conservative voice but this is just insanity at this point! It’s getting really bad here so we’re moving out next year too, pray we make it through 2021.
@@pammygrl5 It's July, '22 now. Hope you made it!
Don’t ruin Tennessee like California!!
its always been ruined by you god fearing sheep
Welcome to the state of shooting stuff...✌

Welcome to Tennessee!
Thank you!
As a fellow East Tennessean I say WELCOME! I sure hope you left your California politics in California!
Thank you for the welcome
@@Hoagmatthew read it and understand it… respect our ways an family values…. most TN would not let a 15 year old “ free kin” Slang for Nasty word! She knows what it means!
I did the same thing, but don't bring those idiotic CA ideologies with you.
You beat me to it, I was gonna say the same thing I left California to get alway from all that, and I'll be damned to see it grow out here.
@@binthrdonthat most of them don't realize they were the problem. they blame everyone else then they vote democrat. look at virginia, the carolina's florida and now texas.
@@babayaga1767 overpopulation is the other problem, people need to limit themselves to 2 kids and we need to change the way schools are funded, currently people making the extra kids are not paying what they should be.

binthrdonthat I’m in WA and never have been liberal , I want out of this state even though my family is all here. The majority of the liberals are in the city.
It’s like the Beverly hillbillies in reverse. We are definitely in bizarro world.
HAHAHAHAHA, so true!
I live in Rocklin. It’s about 25 miles east of Sacramento. I’d leave tonight if I could. I think my wife might miss me, I think. I’ve been in California for 40 years. Grew up in Fremont and I couldn’t ask for a better childhood. Now. Eheh it’s horrible. Lil kahbul as it’s known. I’m not a racist person by any means. But I do believe in assimilation. Growing up, you were an American. No hyphens. Didn’t matter what color you were. I digress I can’t stand the fact that Nancy Pelosi represents me. I don’t see eye to eye on her with anything. Or Newsome. Or kamal toe harris. I could go on and on. Not a lick a sense among em. Anyways, I’m sure you already know you made the right decision. Not an easy one to make either. Good luck to you folks and happy holidays. Oh, one question. How’s the job market?
Glad you all made your GREAT escape!!
As someone that was born in Franklin, TN and moved to SoCal 30 years ago, I am bringing my husband back to Middle Tennessee in December. Every time the packing gets overwhelming, I come to RUclips to look at videos like these to encourage me to get back to wrapping all the crystal in the kitchen or packing up all the books in the study. Videos like these do what 10 cups of coffee do at 5:30 AM. I cannot wait to move back to Williamson County.
Just one more thing. Don't assume the people leaving SoCal for Tennessee are coming to turn it blue. 1 of 3 Californians support President Trump. Of all the people leaving LA County that I personally know, and they are leaving for Nashville or Houston, all but one is GOP 100%, and all but two own firearms. I grew up learning how to shoot before learning how to ride a bicycle, and my husband is anxious to move because he's scared this pistol packing mama might go postal if she has to remove another vagrant from the steps of one of her salons--before he squats and takes a dump.
Welcome to the South
Thank you!
Welcome to better college football.
SEC!
Welcome to TN. Just remember why you left California and leave why you left, in California. You would not believe the folks that come here for our environment and lifestyle, only to later complain about it and set forth to change it. A good example is Nashville. They have succeeded to change what it once was into everything that we all want to avoid.
It’s ruined Nashville ….thanks to out state liberal country music studios, etc. Drugs brought in big time 25 years ago…. Country folk gone! 😊😊. $$ thrown at them ….. million dollars speaks..😊🤣
@@Swim136 Yep. Nashville is often compared to Las Vegas. Nashvegas. But it is becoming more like New Orleans. Cheap, low class, public, in your face debauchery, out of control behavior. Even the Mayor and other government officials are admitting it. There is little social manners left in Nashville. It’s pretty much becoming a free for all and the most bizarre behavior is the most popular. I never go there any more. 🙁
Wow this brings back memories, we moved from Simi Valley in 1993. Made that same trip. The Big Texan we stopped there too!! Fun to watch.
We moved to Knoxville, when we first moved we rented a house in Knoxville, the neighbors heard we were moving here from California and all got together and made a huge pot luck meal that they placed in our kitchen, along with ice tea, lemonade, and a huge sign on the door welcoming us to the neighborhood. We were blown away by the kindness. Since then we bought a home in Maryville, and now we are in the process of building a home in Sevierville.
Welcome to Tennessee! You guys will go through culture shock for a while. I left Jersey 30 yrs ago and made my home in Tennessee and I don't regret it one bit. 👍🏼
Thanks!!
What made you leave Jersey?
@@zyleymacruz333 long story, but basically a woman . Not to mention that jersey was becoming this tyrannical mafia state. Now look at it today. 🤷🏻♂️
@@wyldmansix7 omg really? Mafia state specially how? I’m wondering since I’m considering moving out of NJ myself to TN
@@zyleymacruz333 too many examples. Did you know that they even charge an exit tax when you leave the state after selling property? That's straight up mafia. They tried that crap on my mom and backed off after we contacted some news organizations. Then we have the NJ "storm" troopers who violate people's rights, perform illegal searches, etc. TN has its flaws also, but it's a great state to live in. (At least at the moment)
Hey folks just wanted to say Congratulations to your whole Family. I feel like I have gotten to know yas. Such a feel good video very well done. I'm from Traverse city Michigan and just wanted to say hello and wish you all the best. Tennessee is a beautiful state and I think you're new neighbors will be proud to have a great Family next door and they will show that Southern hospitality with a quickness I bet. Nice to meet yas on video. God bless you all.
Appreciate that! Thank you for watching. Can't wait to hit the roads and see the new states, Michigan is definitely on that list!
I remember when I moved from CA, and must admit it was a surreal feeling, knowing I was not making a round trip; rather, a one-way to a southeastern state with no idea when I might return to visit (my sons and grands).
That was a weird feeling when you realize it isn't a vacation and there is no home to go back to
@@Hoagmatthew I bet that was the greatest 'weird feeling'
you ever had.
“Straws are legal here” Lol.
You're so smart! You'll NEVER regret it!
Wherever you go, there you are.
In the past 24 hours, we have had two different families text us saying that they are considering moving to TN. On family is just waiting for his job to approve a transfer to TN and the other said they are going to come out here to buy land so they can retire in TN in 5 years. I sent them a link to your Vlog as a great source of information. As for the Boyce family, we have been In Nashville area since July 2, 2020 and finally bought a house in Hendersonville in September. It’s been a good run so far. Some ups and some downs but overall a positive move.
Thanks for your Vlog. I watch every one. I know it’s a lot of work for you but we’ll worth it for all the CA families who hope to move here.
I just subscribed to your channel. I live 6 miles north of Greeneville Tennessee
🙋🏼♂️🙋🏼♂️
Sweet family! God bless you and your beautiful family! Amazing trip! :-)
Tear jerker already and just started watching. Grandpa seems sad to see go but understands its for a better life.
Welcome to Tennessee bro may god bless and keep rising
You are my hero, that was a long drive!
Fun to do it once, but no more than that 🤣
I enjoyed the trip with you guys. It was fun! I once lived in Nashville, Tn, now living not far away in Athens, Al. Enjoy Tn!
Appreciate it it. We drove through Athens not long ago, gorgeous area
Hey there Hoag family! Found your channel from a close friend of ours who has been watching your content for a while now and realized we are neighbors! Was watching the end of the video and recognized all the roads you were driving on through Lenoir City, the Dam etc. and thought we'd reach out and say welcome to the "friendliest" town in Tennessee :D Would be great to meet you guys some day, we live right around the corner from the downtown area. Great job on the channel!
Oh nice! We always appreciate the welcome and we are so glad we landed here because it is just as you said, the friendliest town 😀 Hope to see you around 🙌🏻
Welcome. You've made a smart move. Please don't california our Tennessee.
Those screeching bird sounds you heard at the Loves were sounds of birds in distress, designed to keep other birds away. It reduces bird pollution and reduces the risk of bird-borne diseases being spread.
Good to know!
We just left Ontario, California July 1st for Tennessee. Stumbled across your vlogs today. Welcome to the South, Y'all! Like you, I'm a native, & I couldn't wait to leave. If you saw the news footage about the world's largest tree house burning to the ground...well we live about 15 minutes or so from the same town. Love our new home state!
No way! The one in Crossville? Oh shoot, just looked it up, what a bummer. That was on our visit list. Great to see another IE local!!
@@Hoagmatthew, it was off limits & trespassers were prosecuted, so we never ventured past the driveway. Sad day to see it burn. I've seen photos & videos locals have posted of it. Spectacular tree house.
@@762MusicFan ahhh that's a bummer. Looked so cool!
@@Hoagmatthew, it sure was! Would have loved to have seen it in person.
My husband and I are making the same move soon, we are in San Diego and my husband is born and bred SoCal so it’ll be a big culture shock for him. He wants to get away from the politics and cost of living and I want to get away from the hoards of people living here to live in the country. I will however miss being able to drive 6 hours up to mammoth and all the things to see and do here but all his family is here so we’ll be back to visit. Are you happy with your move?
Yup! Very happy. If your drive to Mammoth is for skiing/snowboarding, there are so many resorts out here within a 6 hour drive, it is fun to check out all the new mountains. They certainly aren't Mammoth, as it is one of it's own, but it makes going back to Mammoth that much more rewarding
Hoag We went in the spring and fall to hike with our dogs so I’m sure there’s a ton of beautiful hiking in Tennessee! And because of your videos I’m actually looking to move somewhere around the Maryville area(one of my close friends lives in crossville), so glad I stumbled into your vids because for the life of me I could not make up my mind where in Tennessee we wanted to go but that area seems perfect for our needs!

I was born and raised in LA. We left CA in 2004 for Florida. It was a great place to raise kids. Now we just bought 14 acres in Alabama and Tennessee border. After 20 years Florida has become over crowded and overpriced. I’m not looking forward to the packing! Idk how you fit your whole house in that trailer. I’m hoping to be able to also.

Great family dude. Wish you all the best in red America away from the nanny super state California.
As long as they don't bring their voting habits outside of California, they're welcome. But you know what happened the minute they have to shovel out there on fire hydrant or take their own trash to the dump... property taxes!
These people are so dependent on federal funding and the federal government tit, cradle-to-grave
they're going to bring it to every other area cuz that's all they know.

I was looking for videos for Carnival Cruise, and stumbled on your channel. As I watched this video, things began looking very familiar at 13:18. At 13:19 you were only 1 mile from my Dad's house and 13:25 is the Kingston Steam Plant. I'm moderately familiar with Lenoir City. What a nice accident, finding your channel. Again, thank you for the suggestions, these are great! Appreciate it
I live in Martin Tennessee. West Tennessee is a good place to live especially places like Darden Tennessee
Commercial places will broadcast bird-of-prey sounds to ward off pigeons from gathering and/or nesting on the buildings. The military uses a truck equipped with speakers to run up and down the flightline for the same purpose... lessens the chance of aircraft bird strikes.

About how much did you end up spending in gas for the move?
You couldn't have picked a better state
I can understand moving to a rural area, but what makes people want to move to TN? I’m a native Nashvillian but I don’t understand the big deal about it. Too much traffic, crime like crazy and everything is way too expensive. I’m trying to figure out how to get out and we got a ton of people moving here. Not that I have a problem with that.
