TFT USED to go into the negatives with Shred items to MR or Armor. But the patch with Samira where she used to shred Armor every time she hit someone with her Ability made HER busted, and EVERYONE else that deals Physical damage busted cause everyone started doing True damage.
So they changed it, now nothing can go below 0, no more negative, which is why Blighting Jewel will grant you 5 extra/bonus mana when their MR reaches 0.
