Even I am looking for a PhD position in Environmental Microbiology. I have completed my masters in Environmental Management (Grade- 77%) and bachelors Hons. in Microbiology from India. I have published a book chapter recently.
What are my chances of getting selected and which are the universities I should look for and when is the perfect time for application?
Also could you please share which all universities/ countries you shortlisted?
That’s really good. I wish you good luck and if you need any Help in the process you can drop your queries in the comments and I would definitely help you
@@soumyagupta_Tysm 😊
Is my profile good enough to get accepted (as you have already gone through this step) and will a shift in masters (from Microbiology to Env. Management) affect my chances of getting admission?
I think it depends on the university. Also the university states their criteria on their website that what master’s degree is applicable for applying in a program
@@soumyagupta_ I contacted a Prof. and she told me that she has vacancy but she can't arrange any scholarship for me and she asked me to apply for FCT scholarship. So, can you guide me how to apply for this scholarship? Is uploading apostille documents enough?
Also she told me to convert the grades in Portuguese system (1-20 value scale). Can you guide me how to convert them?
The FCT Scholarship opens around june-july.
Before that you need to get degree recognition and admission in the university. Also you need a research proposal.
So please ask the professor about the admission process. Get the admission letter from the university and then apply for DGES Foreign degree recognition (it can only be done after you get admitted) and only then you can apply for FCT scholarship
Can you add subtitle please 👍🏼
Sure I will do it just give me sometime

@@soumyagupta_ thankyou, in which university you have pursuing phd
My PhD is on a collaborative project of UBI, Portugal and UNIZAR,Spain
How u applied there?
Can you guide me so i could apply
Please watch the entire video. I have explained everything step by step. Shortlist the university, look into the requirements, then if you are applying for project positions: prepare a cv, transcripts, motivation letters, recommendation letters from Professors.
If you are taking the other way , write to the professors in your field, when they accept you, prepare a research proposal with them and apply on university website

@aksaloon047 okay, I am a PhD scholar and I have my TRC. You get your TRC after 4 months of your arrival if all your documents are correct and if it is verified by SEF that you are enrolled in a university.

@@soumyagupta_ thanks for your reply. I am currently studying master's in italy. I will be coming to Portugal for research work on "Erasmus for traineeship ".
I want to know, do i get a TRC card during my stay in Portugal or not?
If you are already studying in Italy. You must be have a permit for Italy or a visa already so you don’t need a Portugese TRC for Erasmus
@@soumyagupta_ yes i have a temporary permit for italy...is there any possibility to get the TRC for Portugal also???so i can convert my driving license there too
Its not possible unless you have a permanent position in a university or a job in Portugal.
