Phil is so cute when he tries new foods, the look of trepidation before taking a taste and the look of excitement when the food tastes great. Its not tasty until Phil says it is 👍💕
I'm excited to try this! Thanks for the great recipe! I'm thinking of adding some parmesan cheese and garlic and using them with a good chicken Cesar salad.
I learned something Thank you. Once apon a time many years ago when i had barely any food i used to make tortillas with flour salt and water tore off pieces and rolled with a glass dry fried in a skillet. When you have what you have you make do 😊
I try to keep lentils and garbanzo beans on hand all the time. What a great idea and so simple. I just had lentil soup, so this will be on next week's menu. Thank you Leisa 😊
Oh my goodness, thank you! My son has all kinds of health issues we're working on, and the corn tortillas haven't been sitting well for his poor little gut lately. I can see the potential to turn these into chips pretty easily too.
Oh dear mom, please get ALL corn out of his diet - it is in everything and sometimes they lie about it by saying there is sugar, but do not say it is corn syrup (the worst). I am 80 and my mom would not listen and therefore I had very bad tummy aches as a youngun. I discovered lentils as an adult and they are so easy on the system and very healthy.
I watch a family in the Czech Republic and their teen daughter just made these a week or so ago! Slightly different seasonings but she just raved about how good they are😊
Whenever I am trying a new recipe I always measure out half the ingredients. ...just to be sure I'll like it! I used red lentils for this first time....added rosemary for the seasoning. I filled the flat bread with home canned pulled pork in BBQ sauce and topped with some salad greens.....can I say how delicious and satisfying this was! MMMM ate two of them! This morning I made the last of the batter to go with scrambled eggs, onions, bell peppers and fresh chives from the garden (love that spring has arrived here in NH). This morning I started another recipe using green lentils with fresh chives.... cooked up just one til almost crisp to enjoy with a salad for dinner tonite......another win. The rest of that batter is in the frig til tomorrow! Not sure what I'll fill these with, but I'm thinking something sweet! Printed out the recipe, it's a keeper!....thanks much Leisa! ~Gail/NH
Yay! Gluten Free! Thank you, thank you. I've been storing up my lentils in my pantry. The fact Phil liked it, it's gotta be good. Can't wait to make this
A cactus & Spinach tortilla is also really good. My gma from Mexico used to make so many different tortillas including bean tortillas for us as kiddos. So yummy.
Nice. Will try this. Recently been making mung bean crepes. Salt, ginger, garlic in a blender, asking with soaked mung beans and water. Make a thinner batter. Add to a bowl with very finely minced onions. The onions create a minimum thickness for the crepe.
Wow!! Really!! I knew I had some lentil, but I went through by beans 3 days ago, and I found LOTS of lentils. I found 55 lbs of lentils. Thank you for the great recipe!!
Wow Lisa! Many Thxs for this recipe!!! I can’t wait to try it! With this recipe you know what the ingredients are ie. no “natural flavors” of unknown origin or anything else! If there is No electricity I think using a fork or potato masher would work also. Blessings! 🙏🏽❤️
the channel food wishes recently release the same basic recipe video. He used red lentils and more water. Nice to see a thicker batter (?) flat bread too! so neat how something so simple can turn into that!! awesome.
Going to Sam’s tomorrow to stock up on beans and rice to put in freezer to keep stocked up. I’m making these tomorrow night to make up with turkey meat and taco salad. These will be perfect for them and bread replacement too. Thank you for making them and showing us how. Love your channel.
Dang girl, you’re a poet too?? I love this idea. I’ve had some lentils in my pantry for a while now. I’m definitely going to try this out, I could see this being good with some tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato and some falafels! Thanks 🙃
I hope you share more recipes using lentil flour. Lentil are about the only bean I stock. I'd love to see some videos like this using rice flour as well!
Ha ha ha... Leisa, you put on a great intro. Put a smile on my face! I never thought about making a flatbread-tortilla recipe with lentils in it. I bet this would be yummy with hummus too! I have lentils that I am wanting to try dry grinding and making a flour to make bread!
Wow I have several bags of lentils in green, yellow and orange!! I think we can make wraps using a masa masher with a thicker texture like masa.🥙🌮 and possibly a chip for nachos. 😊
I am going to make these, after I finish some medical test tomorrow, when I can have solid food. Back in the olden days when I was a Girl Scout leader we had an international program featuring recipes from different countries. A college student from Nigeria used black eyes peas the same way except they were thicker and then deep fried. I stopped making them when I stopped eating fried food. But I like the idea of the tortillas.
I’m going to try these. Fantastic idea. In a grid down situation how would you grind the lentils? I’m think make a load of the mixture and dehydrate it grid it and put in Mylar bags?

It is all in the eyes.
