@@wholesome_masochist4113 They do alot more since Matt Ward stopped writing the lore. There's a cool short story Wolf Lord Tho has a video for in which they are in a skirmish with the Night Lords. If you know who Matt Ward is then you know that during his time with GW as the lore writer he almost exclusively wrote about the Ultramarines and Grey Knights. On rare occasions he'd write lore for the Dark Angels, Blood Angels, Space Wolves, IG or Inquisition. I don't think he ever wrote lore for most of the other Imperial factions and he hated the Orks, Tau, Eldari and Chaos so GW had to out source for years for most of their content. Thankfully Ward is gone and each each faction has their own dedicated writers who do an amazing job of producing quality lore.
@@chrisbennett6236 I'm still very new to 40k. I'm not even past the HH yet tbh. All I know of him is that he made the ultrasmurfs Sue style characters that could do no wrong.
@@wholesome_masochist4113 Yep them and the Grey Knights. I'm a loyalist fan myself. Blood Angels, Dark Angels, White Scars, Imperial Fists, Space Wolves, Ravenguard, Iron Hands, Salamanders and Ultramarines. I like the Sisters of Battle, Tau and Eldari. Not really a fan of anything else. But as a fan I can tell you that the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy eras have great writing. As does the Psychic Awakening thus far. I will say when reading newer Great Crusade stuff it can get confusing due to 11 legions having been removed from Imperial records. So in the new lore if it mentions an unknown legion, there are 11 possibilities as to which one(s) are involved. The older lore only lists the 2nd and 11th legions as unknown for Great Crusade era so it's easier to understand. Essentially GW never fully created the 2nd and 11th. We only get snippets every now and then but no real lore. This because they were removed from Imperial records early in the Crusade for unknown reasons. Later the Horus Heresy traitor legions, Luna Wolves, Thousand Sons, Iron Warriors, Emperor's Children, Word Bearers, World Eaters, Night Lords, Death Guard and the Alpha Legion, were also removed from records so the newer lore reflects this. Though we know alot about the HH legions so it should be possible to tell if they were involved if you know enough about the legions. Inquisition, Ecclisiarchy and Mechanicus are Imperial factions that are important to learn about as post HH they basically run the Imperium. Imperial Guard are written about alot as they handle the bulk of the military operations within Imperial space, though they usually get slaughtered until one of the more powerful factions arrive. Usually Adeptus Astartes. In addition to the Codexes I recommend reading the Fantasy Flight paper and pencil RPG guides as they too have in depth lore you can read if you don't want to read all the novels.
Kitten: "Kaldor Draigo please, we need your help to defeat Magnus and-" Draigo: "I've already defeated him." Kitten: "What? How?" Draigo: "A wizard never reveals his secrets."
It might actually be possible. There was a single fragment of Magnus that might open the door for that. Last it was seen, it was held by malcador the sigilitte before his sacrifice. That fragment was basically the incarnation of his good side. If he were to get that back...
Not in my 40k. The only peoples who get happy endings are absolute monsters like Dark Eldar and Erebus. Hell the ammount of shit loyalist chapter get to wade through is directly proportionate to how nice they are - i.e. Salamanders and Lammenters being one of the chilled dudes in the grim dark future, and the former couldn't fully recover from the Drop Side Massacre for 10000 years while the latter are a meme of bad luck in 40k.

What are you talkin about? Magnus has been hanging out at the imperial palace this entire time: he's been playing dungeons & dragons with The Emperor and Rogal Dorn. What, did the grey knights just turn a corner or something?
Your readings of excerpts are wonderfully done and well picked out and thought out. Your musings of there inner workings and meanings are masterfully done.
Wolf lord rho after magnus back broke his shards spread across the galaxy, ahirman has gotta all the shards but missing one on terra and it's the humanity shard. Interesting lore :)
As guilaman steps upon the scorched sands of prospero, guilaman saw the devistation. He had heard of what leman did but the level of destruction here was unbelievable. Excsessive even...but then guilaman sees magnus. Or rather...a form of magnus. The shard looked at guilaman in a small smile, although hollow. "You shouldnt be here brother. The cyclops is near upon sortiarius" Gman nodded "I came because i need to bring you back, brother" The shard smirked but responded "You cant keep the crimson king from tzeench, arhiman has been trying to no avail to break me and us free" Guilaman nodded "If you wont listen to me,then at least listen to him." Bjorn, who was recently resurected thanks to cawls work looked to the shard of magnus "I remember you...the vylka fynrika next to russ. The fell handed i assume" Bjorn nodded "We were both decieved by the warmaster when prospero burned ya cyclops. It may be a bit late but...i think you should come back. Allfather knows itd help." The shard nodded. "If the emporor is awake this vividly then your right. But if I'm fighting the crimson king i need shards back as well." As magnus spoke, the photep came within prosperos orbit and he cursed in tizca "He knows we're speaking...we need to go...now." Light came down. And in resplendant armor and robes, the crimson king stood before the 3 "You,are not welcome here." The blade of magnus was summoned, and the 3 prepared to fight. But the king didnt strike. "I know what you plan little shard. I may not be able to stop you yes. But you are not welcome here." With a snap, the 3 were teleported back to the maccrages honor, shortly they would escape. But as the crimson king stands upon prospero,a spectral form of kairos looked with both heads at him "Why did you let the anathemas servants live, crimson king?" Kairos was snarky and sarcastic, but the king was calm "I am not able to stand against fathers blade. Guilaman may be less suited for combat but dont forget he beat me and mortarion. And not only that...father protects him. That wolven cur can live. Fenris will burn either way." To be continued...

Yeah, I think they'd reconcile under the banner of both being marines, and both being sons of the Emperor, putting aside their differences thrust upon them by shitty Inquisitors.
The Grey Knights have always been my favorite. Those Silver Angels bringing His wrath to the most hated nemesis of mankind, their purity unshaken by even the fallen Sons. What is more hype than that?
i believe Lushian is just a prognosticar, they are part of the Grey Knight order, but usually take a non-combative role and they mostly scry the warp in search of future daemon incursions so that the Grey Knights can engage these incursions ahead of time. so many of them are still just regular humans with some minor augments. I do agree with you, they are a chapter that is so different from the other chapters. it's why I still play them on the table top. I really don't see them needing primaris marines and if they do get some, it would most likely just be librarians. Their training ritual is so intense that usually 1 out of 1000 recruits survive the first rite of passage

Russ only won because Magnus realized he was killing his brother and stopped fighting. Or did you forget the part where he had beaten Russ down and ripped out one of his hearts? Then realizing the horror of what he was doing stopped fighting back? Well Daemon Primarch Magnus won't give a shit about the horror of what he's doing and beat the Space Puppy into a pile of goo. Besides GW already very cleverly announced the next 3 Loyalist Primarchs who will be returning, and even though the Astartes that had the vision was a Space Wolf, Russ wasn't on the list. The list: Lion El'Johnson Jaghatai Khan Corvus Corvax
Grey knight lore...yeah it's very interesting, I already went into that rabbit hole. I fully agree with them needing more attention once again. It's quite interesting lore they've got. Every single one of their appearances are interesting, the times they encounter primarchs (like on Armageddon), those are extra special, though to me, an Eldar Fanboy, there's this one piece of lore that was extra special: grey knights fight these deamons on this abandonned craftworld, the deamons killed everybody, the GKs wait some time for other eldar to come claim this craftworld once they've cleaned it up from all corruption, but nobody comes (still a nice intention and interesting to know that they don't see the eldar as the enemy, unlike other Imperial forces)
Every time I hear the dialogue of Magnus, I only hear the Emperor TTS voice actor for him. I genuinely believe he's a good match for Magnus's character, even though yes his voice isn't 'big deep evil chaos daemon' voice type.
I would love for mags to discover. T. Tricked him. Both in baiting Horus to order Prospero’s burning and in the Ruberic Spell. Mags would so go rouge... no wraith greater than wholesome pride torn asunder...
@ Marko Oljenik Im saying wouldn’t it be crazy and ironic it Mags did find out. Say. Per. The grey knights or. One of his primarch brothers. Or emperor himself... the master of secrets, “mr. t” ....gets fucked over by big e. Or one of the other chaos powers....
The possibility of a non primarch defeating the demon primarchs bothers me too. They are even more powerful with the ruinous powers within them, so that just seems kind of contridictory. Now when it comes to the Grey knights, I understand. Demon slaying is what they are for.
First off I would probably be like what happened to Mortarion were it took I think the whole chapter to stop him and draigo only was able to carve a name in his heart because of a deamon name from what I remember And curze got killed by a normal human
I hope to the Emperor that you do some more Grey Knights readings. When Malcador hid Titan, could the Traitors have found it if they were looking for it?
The whole point of the 40k is that a mere mortal can best a daemon primarch if the circumstances are right! The whole point of the 40k is that daemon primarchs have fallen... and have fallen far from what they were (demigods, and while they may have more power their flaws are magnified and are prone to more mistakes than before)... that mortals rule their own... that the primarchs had really human flaws... that the imperium is ruled by humans (although guided by the Emperor)! I mean it is best described in the audio drama "Parting of the ways" by Chris Wraight, when the young wolf priest talks to Bjorn the Fell-handed that "he has taken the trials and in that way you are better than he was" meaning their vanished Primarch Leman Russ. Although Guilliman has returned and it is inevitable that sometime in the future other primarchs will return, it is still possible for a mere space marine to best a daemon primarch. Remember that Kaldor Draigo bested the Daemon Primarch Mortarion and carved the name of the former Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knights in Mortarion's Heart. Also in the "The Emperor's Gift" the Grey Knight Hyperion bested the Daemon Primarch Angron. Also in a way the then space wolf (bloodclaw) Ragnar Blackmane bested the Daemon Primarch Magnus the Red in the 3rd novel of the instalation by hurling the Spear of Russ to Magnus' eye. The whole point of the 40k universe is that anything can happen under the right circumstances... that's why even since Guilliman has returned he still hasn't changed much in the imperial organization as we know it (besides primaris marines and the strategic way they are deployed) and his hands are tied.
I think the book is more about the dark angels and thousand sons And the grey knights were just thrown in there if they were the main focus they would have gotten a model
The Grey Knights are hands down the most hard core of the transhuman war makers. I believe that they are just as tough if not MORE SO than the Custodes. The Custodes guard and stand. The Grey Knights never stop killing and fighting and Facing the most......well, you said it Wolf Lord sir. Plus they are also made from the stuff of the Emperor and have a part of his Psycher skill.
@Devon Crusader right. I agree that they are that. I also read somewhere that the same genetic markers that make up the custodians make up the grey knights. And they were also chosen by Malky and "blessed by the emperor and chosen to deal death to the most dangerous of all enemies of mankind on a daily basis forever. I feel that from everything that I've read that the Knights could match the cudtodes in almost every way and have a psychic edge on them as well. They stand above almost every chapter as far as battle goes and then again have a roster of opponents that are held by no other group except the Golds. If they arent equal on every standard then they are almost equal on every one and a little better at others. But I hear ya. . . *EDIT* I didnt mean to write Custodes....that came out if the previous conversation we had. Lol I'm a Space Wolves and Orks

It would be the 4th fragment of his soul to surface and I know the Blood Ravens are chimeric space marine chapter but there's no doubt they are sons of Magnus.
So yeah "unconfirmed" but really who else could it be? This is popular theory so far at least.
@@gamer65688 One thing we know for sure is that there are multiple pieces of his soul running around. I'm sure will eventually identify this mysterious stranger as a host for a piece of his soul and we'll learn about more pieces out there. Given its Magnus the psychic awakening would be a good opportunity to do both.
The good fragment is bound to Janus, one of the original grandmasters of GKs. Who may or may not still be alive, as his tomb on Titan is empty.

Pretty sure Johnson is waking. The White Scars went into the webway looking for Jaghatai and it seems likely that Lorgar is going to make his big return soon and he has a Raven Shadow stalking him. So I'd say we will see three soon.
@@chrisbennett6236 The white scars actually did something?
Finally got woken up at 1am for a Wolfbro video upload.

Damnnn i just wanted magnus to be redeemed =(
It might actually be possible.
Salamanders and Lammenters being one of the chilled dudes in the grim dark future, and the former couldn't fully recover from the Drop Side Massacre for 10000 years while the latter are a meme of bad luck in 40k.

i believe Lushian is just a prognosticar, they are part of the Grey Knight order, but usually take a non-combative role and they mostly scry the warp in search of future daemon incursions so that the Grey Knights can engage these incursions ahead of time. so many of them are still just regular humans with some minor augments.

Russ: I guess it's the Wolf Time then. I broke this red nerdy fool and I'll do it again

Ooh-ho-ho-ho-hoh. The saucy spice boy returns.
Every time I hear the dialogue of Magnus, I only hear the Emperor TTS voice actor for him. I genuinely believe he's a good match for Magnus's character, even though yes his voice isn't 'big deep evil chaos daemon' voice type.
Magnus was my favorite. He got treated so badly. The emperor really screwed him!
I love the Grey Knights, but Magnus ain't nothing to play with either.
I would love for mags to discover. T. Tricked him. Both in baiting Horus to order Prospero’s burning and in the Ruberic Spell. Mags would so go rouge... no wraith greater than wholesome pride torn asunder...
Thank you. Good Ser...may the Emperor Bless you now and furthermore!

The possibility of a non primarch defeating the demon primarchs bothers me too. They are even more powerful with the ruinous powers within them, so that just seems kind of contridictory. Now when it comes to the Grey knights, I understand. Demon slaying is what they are for.
First off I would probably be like what happened to Mortarion were it took I think the whole chapter to stop him and draigo only was able to carve a name in his heart because of a deamon name from what I remember

whats the name of the track you used looping in the background?
My boy Kaldor Draigo!! I do hope more Grey Knights get more attention !
I think the book is more about the dark angels and thousand sons
And the grey knights were just thrown in there if they were the main focus they would have gotten a model
Did they play that one children's card game? Did Magnus loose to the wind-up kitten?
Rescue kitten first, my man.

*EDIT*
I didnt mean to write Custodes....that came out if the previous conversation we had. Lol

@Devon Crusader btw, I'm not a Grey Knight player. Im a Custodes and Ork player.
Nothing like using snotlings as ammo.
*EDIT*
Meant to say Space Wolves
Why do I feel like Magnus and motarien are wild cards
Probably cause they are.
They are the only traitor primarchs who don’t still have a chance at redemption. Perturabo doesn’t want to be loyalist, fulgrim might be possessed, Angron is Angron, lorgar started this whole mess and the other two are long dead. Meanwhile magnus resents tzeentch for all the shit he’s pulled and mortarion is such a bitter bastard that he can’t help but rebel against nurgle (his scythe is literally described as impossibly clean)
Mortarion was forced to become a demon. He never wanted to worship chaos.
Grey knights have always been my army. Their lore, aesthetics, history, secrecy; everything about them is intriguing. I wish they were better in the game, but no matter how many losses I face, I cannot lose my love for them
