I am the original owner of a 1990 Superman 2 that I bought during a backpacking trip in Europe after graduating from college. It was my first mechanical watch, and it secured my passion for mechanical watches. It was my only watch for 20 years before I gave it a companion by buying a Sinn 656. For the importance of this Yema in my life, I was happy to see the brand going strong in the last years and launching interesting new watches. (As for the specific watch on review, I like it. My only criticism is that since it is a military watch, it should have a fully graduated bezel.)
I like these, crystal reminds me of Doxa, band reminds me of Sinn. I have never been inspired to have a French movement though. The blue bezel insert looks better. The long crown guards are refreshing. Thanks for sharing, it great to see original designs!
I want to add a blue diver to my collection and I am torn between this and the new Seiko SPB451. I realize that the Navygraf has the superior movement and that cool bonding with the Marine Nationale… but the Seiko is just so nice and has that more “serious” blue, that I prefer. The Navygraf blue looks awesome but I am afraid I might get tired of it with time… damnnn! I dont know what to do 😂
it is a tough choice the blue colors are very different for the 2 watches you mentioned. I did a video on the 451 so watch it back to back and see which you like more.
The first Yema I actually like. I love the brushed finish on the case and bracelet along with that bracelet taper. I also really like the sapphire crystal.
The watch is stunning, and that blue color is gorgeous! But I think there are better options at this price range or close to it. Great video as always, and I love the fact we have the same wrist size and similar skin color, I can know precisely how the watch will sit on my wrist!!! hahaha
I still kick myself for not purchasing the Navygraf Maxi dail, they had a couple years ago, with the cool black/orange theme. I sold another watch to purchase that, but something happened and I ended up not getting it. I've lusted after it ever since. Yema makes fantastic watches for the price.
Cartier might not qualify for the UBH (Union de la Bijouterie Horlogerie) Award for "Best French Made Watch of the year" if the criteria strictly require the watch to be fully made in France. Cartier is swiss made despite being French origin. This also applies to Breguet.
Considering Yema's "questionable" at best history of CS, an in-house Yema that an indie watchmaker might not be able to get parts for is not something I would consider to be a selling point. Otherwise it's just a very plain looking diver.
It's because of this new, higher spec, in-house movement. You can get other Navygrafs (still with great movements) for as little as almost 1/3 of the price.
Yema will never get anywhere with this garbage . 1600 for a cheaply made watch nah bro , Dials cheap , hands are cheap , the lume application is cheap , the bracelet is cheap , the clasp is straight up proof positive this cheap . this is a 700-900 dollar diver . not worth what they are asking anything over 1300 were going to need alot more refinement than this .
+ import taxes, custom duties and vat. and also considering that Yema doesn't do french Vat exemption for Non EU customers as they should do ( it's mandatory) they just change the logo of the currency on the website(€$) . Euro / dollars difference is 10%. But French vat is 20%
Im picking up the quartz version, I think its handsome for 360 euros and comes on a bracelet plus marine nationals strap with their discount code. GF is an EU citizen so get it shipped to her for free as well. I think it’s a great deal
@@melissasmess2773it’s a Seiko mecha quartz movement. For me 360 euros for a cool design / strap just to complement tracksuits / informal clothing and something I don’t have to worry about when travelling through busy cities all over the world. It’s a winner. But yeah my gf is super annoyed with my watch addiction
Everyone wants almost every sports watch to be basically be a Rolex submariner / daytona clone. What ever happened to a watch being an individual personal object?
It is comical, every watch video, and blog, is littered with "enthusiasts" wanting every watch to be like a Rolex they cannot afford. But then every watch would be exactly the same. How boring. Also, the Submariner has a much LESS pronounced bezel than this Navygraf. Lower overall height. Less aggressive gripping surface. And less surface to grip.

I like that suggestion.
Yema has been absolutely crushing it.
they are trending in the right direction for sure!
I love Yema. I agree that the clasp is the only drawback. I have the Marine Nationale GMT and it is awesome!
That is the first design from Yema that I have really liked. I think that I have to buy one on the blue nylon strap. 👍👍
Good choice!

Love the video as always. Try to get a production Yema with the white insert and the marine nationale strap !
I will ask them but I'm not sure what they will send. I just mailed them this one back.

yes below my wrist bone its 6.5inch but where I wear it is above the bone 6.7 inch slightly bigger.

oh yea I remember that one. very cool
Needs a lumed seconds hand and drilled lugs. Otherwise great though.
great video
Dial is supercool ❗️👌🏼Now, I need a Yema for the box 😂
The box is nice lol
Review the Mido Ocean Star 39!
I'll put it on the list and ask kavar jeweler if they can order one. But no promises
What is the tax like? If you live in the UK
"Best French made watch of 2024", facing stiff competition from... Um... Erm... Well... There's um.. wait... It'll come to me...
so breguet, bell & ross, cartier, baltic are all garbage?

I thought the French only made good baguettes? There's not even a French car I like. 🧐
@@EscapementWatchthat's why they're successful. 😂
@@Antonio5559398no they’re all Swiss

The 19mm wide strap was a mistake!
Clickmonster.
I had an Yema, and ccurently own an Oris. Oris is in a far superior league.
Lovely whatch way to expensive

Yooo mah man , I’m waiting on a video of the new MM300 black on black SLA079 from you . Hope you do make it happen sometime soon !
I will make a new mm300 video in the future.
I would be weary to own a Yema with an unstable balance wheel like that in your video.
He stated this model was a prototype with not the correct spec production movement.

Don't like a coin edge bezel for a diver... should have been more pronounced like the Rolex sub
