Oh, Okie Jammer, you made my day. Thank you kindly. I definitely have many areas that need improvement (always), though I couldn't be happier with this first project.
Just found your channel. Your zen approach had me wondering why this unassuming lady was telling me about the bushcraft / outdoors realm when compared to some loud voiced military biker folks. How wrong was I! You're a total gem. Great work and love your unique presentation style. Bring the blood pressure down and learn all at the same time.
As a knife collector for over 40 years, I can confidently say that your sheath project was very well done, and most people don't realize what a time consuming process it is. Anyway, it would be a fine hobby for you to continue to pursue.
Thank you so much. I deeply appreciate your opinion. You're so right on it taking a lot of time. There was 6 hours of footage of the process to wade through. 😊
At 4:51 in the video, Fiebing recommends applying its "Gum Tragacanth" to prepare the leather edge prior to applying the Edge Kote. On their website they have short how-to videos about applying the coatings.
@@wobblyotteroutdoors Thank you! I honestly think that I would go with a snap button closure too much fiddling to close it and it seems like it might need it to be wet form or a bit bigger as it looks like you having and issue putting inside and removing it .I’m not expert but you ask for what we think.I might do one but thicker leather?
You're welcome. Didn't realize how much I would come to appreciate calipers until we started Wobbly Otter. Yes, a thicker, full grain leather would be much more refined. The suede is by its nature more floppy than full grain, and so it can form by being a snug fit. Actually, and surprisingly to me, the fit of the knife in the sheath is exactly as I hoped. With time and use, the knife slips in and out beautifully. I'm so pleased. A snap would have definitely been an easier to use closure. And again, the much more refined option. 🙂 I'm seeing a trend here. While far from perfect and refinement, it came out like I hoped. It is soft, rugged, and extremely low profile. In this particular case (pardon the pun), those are the qualities I was aiming to have. I would love to make a quality, full grain leather piece! Now to decide 🤔 what will go in it. 🙂
This. Is. Craftsmanship. Thank you very much!

Love the sheath! I hope to try and make one soon. I look forward to the review of the Ranger Grip.
Yay! So glad you like it. I'm tickled pink with how well the Ranger Grip fits.
Oh... And happy sheath making to you too!
