Redquill Muff Gamefowl (December 2023)

Sharing my Redquill Muff gamefowl. I’m new to this blood, but never seen these before and while visiting an old buddy I couldn’t pass them up.
The bullstag, is almost fully mature, was calm and gentle in hand but the moult stressed him out. Handling will hopefully calm him back down. Some stags and cocks are inherently calm, to be clear, this is a better way to be.
At the same time, you want them to be slightly “challenging” in their demeanor toward you, especially with his hens. Since this is my only observation of this family, I must make an exception to him being a bit rude to the pullets (chicks yet). Also, I did not leave him in the pen with the hen and her chicks because he cannot be fully trusted. This is not a good thing but he is all I have to breed until his sons are older come spring.

The birds body is sensitive when it has blood feathers can make a bird a man fighter quick handling them when they're like that

I try to avoid handling them during molt. This guy was left alone for about 2 months.
