Request -- I like the cuffs here and other small projects like them that can be sewn onto clothing to easily step up basic garments. How bout a collection of cuffs, collars, crochet necklines and other fancy stuff like that. I'm just starting with crochet and curious about things like this because I love the look of crochet garments, but my body easily overheats. I feel like with a list of add-ons to existing garments to make, I can have all the fun and never make anything too heavy to actually wear.

So there are few main outfits it is recommended a bride have bridal shower dress, rehearsal dinner, wedding dress, reception dress (some people have transforming wedding dresses for this), and a going away dress, some people also have a next day brunch look (depends on if you do that/are ok with wearing a dress twice). Obviously you can have more or less. I was a moh this year. The bride had 3 her reception "dress" was being able to put the train on the dress so it wouldn't drag. She loved her going away dress because it was comfy after all day and wants to get more of them in different colors.

I love all the ornate lace variation in the dress at 3:13, but would love to see it combined with an equally ornate top part, such as the one in 2:28. since these are done in only one colour, there's a lot of room to go wild with shape, repeated pattern and texture-related stuff. It's worth noting that any one of these would work as something other than a bride's gown. The paterns aren't colour-dependent. Similarly, a bride who crochets her dresses fabric could easily choose a yarn fiber that's easy to dye, allowing her to transform her wedding dress to something she can wear to most other formal occasions afterwards.
You are right, Paige, -- ceremony=the religious ceremony in the church with the minister and walking down the aisle between church pews and the saying of the vows etc. The reception is the more informal and secular part of a wedding where you and guests eat food, dance and give toasts, play games, give speeches, or make light joke speeches (those sorts of traditions). the name reception comes from the tradition of the couple "receiving" all the guests in a formal line to shake hands and say "Hi", which still sometimes is part of the ritual. So, yes, more practical dancing dress change is sometimes a smart step for the reception.
