i wonder about the depth of welding being achieved , the rebar is only tacked to the c purlin, the weld is done in short bursts to avoid melting the c purlin but achieves very little actual weld. this seems like a difficult and unsatisfactory method of installing sag rods. A much better way is to use threaded rod cut to lenths suitable to link the c purlins together. You alread have holes positioned for the rebar so why not use threaded rod and a few cheap nuts to do a much better job. No need to drag a welder around the roof, , giving a much cleaner and positive rod connection. it looks like half of those welds are just skin deep, the operator does not clean the black carbon away from the weld so he can inspect his work. he does not check his welding at all. This is just unsatisfactory .

It's the builder spec we are just a worker we are only following instructions treaded rod is more expensive than round bar that's the main reason
