It‘s the same as always. Tesla does something in a difficult and kind of weird and the internet freaks out about it, even though similar tech has been in use for years.

This is an interesting point that always seems to get missed from discussions about how we move away from gas powered cars. The common rhetoric is the inevitability of everyone just moving to electric cars. But that seems to ignore all the other facets of cars that kinda suck (how much space they require to function [roads, minimum parking requirements, driveways/garages], traffic, commutes, costly insurance, etc...), along with problems that get introduced with electric cars.
The Tesla suspension thing feels very Tesla--in that really advanced, really comfortable adaptive suspension systems has existed for decades and the technology is mature enough that you can even get it in motorcycles (e.g. the Ducati Multistrada), but they're going about it in their own much more complex cloud-and-computation driven way for no obvious benefit

The whole android automotive is kinda scary tbh. We already have issues with google spying on us through our phones, a car really is just that much more invasive. I think for most consumers the infotainment is something that works once you get used to it and they usually also use phone coupling in the newer cars. From your perspective as a tech reviewer I can understand that blanket statement.
Tesla is not so far ahead. Mercedes and Audi have that feature for years, also for the traffic lights so you know at what speed to go to get green. Do some research before just praising copycats. Porsche have a system to know where to lift the nose of the car so that you don't damage it.
We desperately need more battery production ASAP. People don't realize just how many batteries are needed to convert all ICE vehicles to EV. This is partially why I'm still so bullish on Tesla. They have been making contracts with almost every battery producer such as Panasonic and LG Chem for years now and they are beginning to ramp up their own battery production as well. Other automakers are just now beginning to secure contracts and build factories for batteries. EVs are going to be cell constrained for years to come, especially as demand increases.
I dont care about phone camera mostly - not taking many pictures... But to be honest I would now get 12s Ultra only to get Minion case on it and to have Minion phone.

I agree with your hot take about car infotainment systems. All of the ones that I have seen (-Tesla) are really bad. The UIs are not intuitive, the sound isn’t great as a lot of them use too much bass to make them sound full. The speakers are very cheap, the voice assistants are pretty much useless and if you have navigation, it is WAY TOO HARD to use. Not to mention that a lot of them freeze and crash. The premium upgrades are generally a huge rip off as you can build a MUCH better system with aftermarket parts for a LOT LESS. I know non tech savvy friends who agree to this hottake. I wish the manufacturers would either make a decent audio system, with a stable and intuitive UI and good speakers. Or stop making it impossible to replace the stereo. I have been looking at upgrading my car recently and ability to replace the factory radio is a must! There are very few newer cars that allow this option at the moment, and to make it worse the infotainment system they give you is basically trash. I am not a pro builder, but I can build my own system that sounds amazing, even compared to a home audio system for what these companies charge for a premium system.

I could build a better system for about $500, given that the dealer charges more than that for a replacement radio, it is possible. They wont do it sadly. This title is clearly a departure from the style of title they've typically used for the podcast that clearly describes the content they'll be talking about. I read this title, and all it tells me is that they'll be talking about some new camera technology. "This could be the best smartphone camera" is a statement that could apply to literally any new smartphone camera. As a title, it provides no useful information beyond the category of the subject matter. And even further, the claim is one that MKBHD's own reviews repeatedly refute since he always make the point to conclude that camera performance is subjective. I know it's this is the style of title that works on RUclips, but I have been curating the creators I watch to ones who don't do that. Both podcasts and MKBHD have historically been resistant to non-informative titles like this, so I guess I'm just disappointed despite understanding why they do it.

It also allows the company to leverage large numbers of orders to buy parts cheaper in bulk, as well as labor. But the lack of compromise let’s the company get away with stuff like Rivian did: “oh you still want the car you pre-ordered? Well now it’s thousands of dollars more expensive. Yeah, we’re changing the deal. Your pre-order means nothing to us. If you refuse the new rules we’ll just refund you the money and bye-bye”.

They basically downgraded from s22 ultra screen to s21ultras, this is my biggest gripe bnext to no improvements on lenses ther than the main, which i would be cool with a smaller sensor rather than abigger one, 1.33 on samsing is perfect, i would just make the others better, and no 8k 30 with lens swithing or just at alll, no 4k 120 no better video, slower wireless charging, ugly gold ring, no back screen which should have been bigger to have a gretat vlogging and notificaion setup, no 4k 60 on the selfie cam, and no better waterproofing, no better speakers.thats all my gripes, and thats enogh to not love it just like it. but still wanna buy i t cause its the best android video camera in 4k 30 lens switching and has the newest cpu gpu. OH yes only 512gb storage with 12gb ram. why? and no foldable made with these qualiies yet, why?

Calling every car‘s infotainment bad is just blatantly dumb. For example BMW‘s iDrive is basically the best out there. You can whilst your driving without having to touch on the screen because you get an easy to reach selector wheel that does everything for you. By this you don‘t have to take your eyes of the road that much to navigate the iDrive menu. Unless Android automotive builds in this functionality you generalise things by saying everything else is worse.

Nothing Phone pre-orders: what's the point of "refundable" pre-orders? The customer can just ask for the money back anytime. No compromise.
