Hi Maxime! Thanks a lot for your comment. Our scores were indeed very close at the end. Earth is a great game and very well balanced! I think you really have a contender for Game of the Year here. Congratulations on designing it. It must have been a lot of hard work with lots of playtesting but definitely worth it!
@@maxtardif4959 Fingers crossed for you man! It's great to see how much praise your game is getting all across the community. Earth is simple enough for anyone to learn how to play, and deep enough to satisfy the needs of even the most seasoned gamers. Great stuff!
I was so excited to see this pop up on my notifications. I just got this in the mail yesterday and was looking to play it this weekend. Thank you for a wonderful playthrough and as always - great commentary. I love watching the two of you play.
@@AllAboardBoardgames I got to play last night with my family and WOW, we loved it. There are so many great elements in Earth such as multiple ways to score, many different cards so there is always a unique experience, great combo effects, and everyone always has something to do during the game (not a lot of down time). We tend to take longer to play than most as we often talk and chose not to play simultainiously this time. But we still managed to keep it just over an hour. There are definitely some Terraforming Mars and Wingspan similarities and that is not a bad thing (since we love both). Anyway, thanks for replying back. We love your channel and enjoy chatting with you when we can. We are already awaiting your next video. 😁 Cheers!
@@greg_herhuth Glad to hear that you liked Earth. It really is amazing that they managed to keep such a big game down to an hour or so. I love that everyone gets to do a watered down version of actions other people take. It's a bit like Race for the Galaxy or Terraforming Mars Ares Expedition in that sense and as you say, that makes for little down time. Thanks to you for your comments. They are always very nice to read, and I also enjoy the chatting! All the best.
I played Earth only once, but I did enjoy my game. The biggest positive point of the game is that it is a game with a lot of réflexion, but who you can play it fast enough to play multiples times in an evening. We played with 5 players and the game did last less than 2 hours (because we play simultaniously). I did feel the same thinking game as Terraforming Mars (wich I love) but a lot shorter time to play.
Hi Stéphane. We really enjoy playing Earth too. We are both huge fans of Terraforming Mars, and Earth has a similar feel with lots of cards that interact very well with each other. It also feels a bit like Wingspan. We haven't played it with 5 players yet, but I can see how it would be quick. Of course, when we are not videoing we play simultaneously too and it makes the game quick but very satisfying. Thanks a lot for your comment!
@@AllAboardBoardgames Hi, Pat! No, none of my crew has been willing to spring for it yet. Go figure. I'm trying to decide if it's too luck dependent for my taste. What did you think? Beyond what youi opined in the video?
@@MisterG2323 Sorry to hear that your crew is not into trying it out. We liked this one a lot. There is some luck involved for sure in the cards that you draw, but I think that there are many paths to winning so it is not completely dependent on luck. Much of the luck factor will be with the Fauna cards, which in fairness do give a lot of points. Sometimes one player will get all the cards they need to get points there where the other might not draw a single one. But there are other places you can turn to. At the start of this game, I was a bit discouraged when I saw that Glai much more synergy with her starting cards and the Fauna cards than I did, but then I just rushed to finish before she could get too many points out of that.
The game runs pretty smoothly and when we normally play the actions are done simultaneously so it does save a lot of time. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Efrain. It's good to hear from you. I guess the scores on the screen might make it easier for you guys to see what is going on. We'll keep that in mind going forward. Cheers!
You are correct! Sorry about that. I think that although we said it allows us to draw cards, when we actually played we planted them. I have made a note in the Klingon subtitles. Thanks for letting us know!
You did indeed hear it right. Yes, Glai is from Batanes. It's a really beautiful place. How about yourself? Really glad to hear you liked the playthrough!
Haha... well, if you are not used to playing other board games I am sure that it is a bit of a learning curve. My advice is to just follow the Setup instructions in the rulebook, and then just try playing. There are only 4 actions, so try taking each one to test them out and see what happens. It's a lot of fun when you get it! Hope you had a great Christmas and all the best to you for 2024!
Nice playthrough, guys!
Thanks Jankogo! Really glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for taking the time to play Earth, glad you like it and wow that end game scoring haha!

@@MisterG2323 Just out of interest Geoff, how often do you get to play games with your crew? What is the usual player count?
@@AllAboardBoardgames Typically once a week or so, at either 3 or 4 player count, depending. I also play on BGA as well.
You know you're in for an exciting ride if the end game involves whipping out the calculators!
Oh yes! When things get this close there is no room for error! haha
Interesting! I played this game on bga and I was wondering how resolving all the actions would go in real time. Thanks for sharing

@1.53... I think it's planting two card and draw 4 cards and compose 3 ... other player get to plant 1 card and draw one card
