Up where I live in Michigan a local Amish rolls metal roofing. While getting my roof made he walked through his entire setup and allowed my daughter cut a sheet. Made her day. He has been in busy for 25yrs now. His quality is better than the store roofing and can get it ten times quicker too.
This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.
Trim Folder is Variobend USA Slitter Coil Farm is Slinet Awesome products! Variobend USA is made in America and Slinet is made in Germany. Both machines communicate with each other and your pc or tablet. V-Link was awesome. They stole the show. Great Content! Love this video!
Love to see our machines out and about, especially with our friends at Formwright! If you decide you want to do that video about portable rollforming, we can make it happen! -Katie
I saw that ladder. It is definitely the trick for steep standing seam. I also love their standing seam trim. You are able to trim your whole job before panels are laid.
This is great. I remember my uncle with a big red box truck that was loaded with rolls in the front, and just watching him roll out gutters and flashing was incredible.
I've noticed the roofers who can't roll form their own panels are just not competitive in pricing versus those who can. When you're buying per-formed panels from someone else you're paying a mark-up. If you're doing standing seam roofing you have got to get a roll former.
This is true ‘green’ tech.. all the material you shown are actually recyclable and sustainable versus the crazy high tech stuff shown on so many shows.
My roof was done by a machine like that on an open trailer, they did my entire roof in hours, it was crazy! I asked him why the job was so expensive when it was so fast? He told me the trailer was over $100K and then he told me what the coils of metal cost - yikes!
i did find it was cheaper to buy the machine to have them make it and the delays they did too i am able to make my own panel too i have paid this off in 2 years too
In the Netherlands we produce all the material prefab at the workshop and transport it then to the construction site. The machine we use is from schlebach quadro and schectel, i work with them for many many years.
@OfficialRRBuildings Thanks Kyle, The only problem is that telegram does not mean much to me in the Netherlands otherwise it is unknown to me. Continue with these topics and tool topics from time to time because I love that.
1/4 of the event attendees are amish or Mennonite. They've kinda took over the post frame labor at least in ks ne Iowa it seems. Nobody wants to build anymore, just sell steel and trim. Lol
So this is a mobile version of Menards from 1972. This is nice but I only do 2-3 metals barns a year. Now if I can have a machine that makes cement siding on demand, that’s something I would invest in.
Pretty cool technology and I'm a 100% metal roof devotee...once you've installed it or had it installed on your roof(s) it's really the only way to go for many reasons IMHO. That said, trying to compete with 'the big three' like Metal Sales isn't that difficult to do? Or, would this be more toward a more custom niche? Amazing amazing stuff.
Competing with the big three like you said will be nearly impossible. They have shipping contracts and 100s of millions of dollars worth of equipment that make it a lot cheaper to manufacture than you can. Your advantage is that a contractor can come to you with their spec and you can have their order done the next day. People will pay a premium for locality, speed, and relationship.
@@scuph I think you're right:). Yeah, that niche might be really good for some people in some areas and for people who like to 'bend metal' it might be great being ones own boss etc. And, I do think more and more people will move to metal roofing IF the prices can stabilize.
@@leozmaxwelljilliumz3360 While not saying you're wrong - that does surprise me. Typically when they negotiate purchases from the larger companies those companies don't then sell to individuals. I guess you're lucky it is in your area.
Everyone needs a siesta, after that joke I think you’re obligated to get a 5th wheel as Greg’s new nap place. Also, it was sort of funny seeing a fake plant in the trailer, weird marketing choice. Either way, it’s always awesome to see better tools that help us build better faster!
for that trailer how big of a roll can you put in it and how many feet can you get out of that roll? you have to ship the rolls to the site and unload them.

@@tallswede80 Well first of all it’s a joke but around here the best prices for steel roofing are generally from the Amish. They fabricate it on demand usually within a 24 hour period too. It was a joke only though.

That's how we do it here in rural ohio as well. Its nice to put your bottom and top in place and have perfectly cut pieces.
I'm in the metro detroit area, mind sharing who your roofer is?
@@eks007 a local Amish crew did my roof. They stay local.

Kyle and Robert - two guys who obviously take pride in the fruits of their labor. Awesome!
Yeah..holy shit...imagine if everyone was like these guys !? Even half of em...we're doomed
That variobend is freaking awesome!
American Made! USA!

I am not in any trade and only understood about 10% of all that but its all amazing. In 10 years building a house is going to look so different.
That W valley is awsome (about 8:08.). Two water stop folds on each side in addition to the center ridge.
Wow… Really Efficient
And thank you Kyle for showing us! 👍😁
Wow….that Variobend was amazing. The Slinet too!
Absolutely! Great product !
Wow… Is right!
what an awesome array of tools and setups... cheers Kyle..
Best choice I made the machine was expensive but I made it back quick
I would love to see more machine forming action.
We use them ridge ladders on almost every roof in Uk, I’ve worked on tiled roofs at 55degrees, there’s no walking up that safely !

This actually makes a lot of sense and I think us will eventually do that as well. But last mile transportation is expensive.
My supplier still uses single trolleys on rails fixed to the floor and an overhead crane to move the reels......I have to show him your video too😂
Here's a million dollar idea for you. Make custom valley pieces.
Central States out of Jasper Alabama Makes a cool ss valley!
Didn't expect to see the Amish ladies walking around the show.

Lowe and home depot Both buy from a local metal company and resell it in my area. Super funny when you get it 30% cheaper directly from the company

Nice good 👍 job thanks men
Does anyone know where you can buy those machines by chance? Would love to start rolling my own sheets for our shops we do
Just an aside, last few videos (for me) the audio is way low, not sure if it is the mic or the production. FYIO
Almost there 315 to go
Have you looked at the video from Poland of a roll form of a Quonset hut section one meter wide , for a farm building 20 meters wide ?
Hi brother thank you nice machine but how mach is this.mechine can cost please
Make another video with this trailer on your job site.
awesome

2200 lineal feet is about as big of a coil as you can fit in that machine
What is the cost
I’m in. Who wants to spot me 100k?

Lately your videos are quite, so I have to turn up volume and still having hard time hearing and then commercials are very loud
Website for the roll form trailer setup anyone?
480V 3phase kind of kills the portability of this, no?
Only the first machine was advertised as portable, the other two shown aren't portable.
Oh I missed that. Thanks!
Loo-ville??? 🤷🏻♂️
Way outta my pay grade. That is call in then pick up, equipment
Getting hard to hear you lately. Your audio is to low

You might be getting a visit from the Amish mafia.
the amish mafia. lmao thats so bizarre, its funny AF
what are you talking about? Do they have a corner on the metal roof bending market?

Nobody wants to work hard and build these days. Just sell metal and trim. These roll forming places are popping up everywhere in the Midwest.
What do you do for a job if you’re using any Power Tools shut the fuck up 😂😂

It is more cost-effective to build a large volume of repetitive products in Asia and ship it to America.
